Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

I made the recipe exactly as written other than I pureed the ingredients in my food processor first. After I tasted the sauce when it was ready to serve, I was disappointed. I think maybe the basil was a little overpowering and it definitely needed more salt for my family. I added a little more cream to tone it down some, salt and pepper and served it over grilled Italian sausage and bowtie pasta. Probably won't make again.

Beef Nacho Casserole

If you could see all of my reviews you would see that I rarely, if ever, give a one star. But I made this recipe as written and it was the most boring, bland casserole I have ever made. Thank goodness I made cheese dip and guacamole to go along with it.

Bread Pudding with Praline Sauce

Awesome bread pudding! I used 2 1/2 cups of sugar for the bread, I also mixed all of those ingredients together and poured over the bread at once, and then stirred the bread mixture occasionally until all liquid was absorbed. Other than cutting down on the sugar in that mix, the only other change that I made was to add 2 tablespoons of spiced rum to the sauce mixture while it was boiling. My entire family raved about it. Definitely a keeper! Thanks for sharing!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Lots of people like sweet cornbread and this is a good recipe for that type of cornbread. For Kay who gave this one star... I don't seen anything in the recipe claiming that it was southern cornbread. So your critical review is unfounded.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

This was great. The only thing I changed was the cooking process. I used boneless/skinless half-breast, I quickly browned them, placed them on a baking sheet and then baked them at 350 degrees for 15 minutes while I made the gravy and mashed the potatoes. My family really liked the flavor of the breading and the gravy and so did I! Thank you!

Low Carb Jambalaya

Awesome! Such a nice change from the same ole' low-carb dishes! For those of you giving this recipe one star because it has no rice, and therefore is not "jambalaya".... if you want rice then don't look at a low-carb recipe, and in the future do not rate a recipe based on its name, that is not the purpose of the rating system. The only change that I made to the recipe was that I sautéed the zucchini, sausage, and shrimp together and added at the last. Ummmm soooo good!

Italian Sausage Soup

This was awesome! I feed four adults and as written, even though it says 6 servings, it would not have fed us. I added another can of broth, more carrots, and another can of beans. This was really good with a loaf of garlic bread. Will be making it again.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

OK, you recipe purist, don't beat me up to badly for changing the recipe. I only did it so I could use what I had on hand. I didn't have any chicken breast, but I did have two large cans of white chicken from Sam's Club, so I added it towards the end of cooking, and I used chicken broth instead of beer. We loved this! I wil certainly be making this again!

Wedge Salad with Elegant Blue Cheese Dressing

I will definitely make this again, but I will cut back on the vinegar and the sugar, both were a bit much making the dressing very sweet & vinegary. As other reviewers, I only used 1/4 pound of blue cheese and it was plenty. The one thing that I did add was seasoning salt, otherwise this would have just been thrown out. I don't know exactly how much I added because I did the sprinkle, stir and taste bit. Overall a good start to a good salad dressing.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

This has become our favorite! I add a little more vinegar and water, and at the end, I make a little roux, probably 4 T. of butter, 4 of flour, and add the drippings to make a sauce to serve with the pork loin! Wonderful!
