I am the world's first lap banded vegan (or at least I claim I am, I have no proof). I love to cook, I love to watch cooking shows despite the fact that so often they involve cooking meat-- that really doesn't bother me. I have to cook meat dishes for people from time to time and I am good, even though I don't taste to know for sure!
I am a runner, a business owner, a dog owner (they own me really), and love to grow my own food and eat organic.
My favorite things to cook
Fried rice, chow mein, pasta, fajitas, falafel, spanish rice and so much more! It almost always has to include garlic and cilantro- whatever it is.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family recipes are my mom's spectacular potato cheese soup (but I obviously no longer eat that since becoming a vegan); her just as famous macaroni pie as well.
My cooking triumphs
I created a spanish rice recipe that is a huge favorite, I am a supreme nacho maker and have been famous for it in my family for a decade, and more recently I have been baking vegan desserts that have been a great success. I am also pretty good at eating something I like at a restaurant and recreating it at home.
My cooking tragedies
Any dish that I take pride in that doesn't turn out exactly to my specifications is a mini-tragedy to me!
