Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
As I sit here eating the leftovers for lunch I can honestly say that this recipe is absolutely AMAZING!...with a few things to make it my own. My fiance loves this...and this is not the kind of thing he would normally eat. I use 2 frozen pie crusts, 2.5 cups of frozen mixed vegetables (boiled 5 minutes), 5-6 small pieces of frozen boneless/skinless chicken (boiled), 1 can of cream of chicken soup, 1 can of cream of cheese soup (fiance's request...which I was a little hesitant about...but was a great addition!), onion powder, garlic powder, 1/2 tsp thyme (can be overpowering if add more), poultry seasoning, splash of italian seasoning, and shredded cheese to sprinkle on top. I use little heart shapped cookie cutters (corny but "cute" so my fiance says)to cut out in top shell and then place the cut outs slightly over their holes to allow for the steam to escape. I brush egg on the bottom shell and the top shell to help brown and crisp, cover edges with foil for first 30 minutes of cooking at 400 degrees and remove foil to cook for another 30 minutes..and it's PERFECT! Probably my favorite recipe on here so far!!

Ice Cream Sandwich Desserts

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2011
This is absolutely AMAZING! The best dessert recipe EVER! I put a layer of sandwiches in a 9x13 pan, a layer of melted chunky peanut butter, a layer of half tub whip cream mixed w/ 1/2 packet dry chocolate pudding mix, sprinkled crumbled peanut butter cups, drizzled hot fudge and caramel sauce, another layer of ice cream sandwiches, spread the other half of the tub of whip cream, and sprinkled remaining peanut butter cups! Freeze, eat, enjoy! DELICIOUS! This recipe will be used over and over and stored as a family favorite!

Monkey bread on steroids

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
This was ok in taste...not what I expected. Plus, when I dumped the bread out of the pan, I noticed that for some reason the bread pieces didn't all bake together, so there were a lot of loose pieces. How do I fix this? I think maybe next time I'll try and pinch the pieces together as I layer them? Also, the bread was nice and brown and yummy on top when I took it out, but it was still very moist and gooey on the whole outside of the bread when I dumped it. I put it back in the oven on a baking sheet to bake a little longer to get the same results as the top of the bread...just didn't want it to be soggy. The cream cheese was a little much for me...tasted too much like cream cheese. Would have been better if it was a little sweeter tasting. My fiance and co-workers really liked it though. I think I'll try this again sometime soon and see what comes of it...

PB&J Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I made these for my kids over the weekend and unfortunately while cooking a million other things at once, forgot they were in the oven! They turned out a little darker than I would have liked, but still tasted great! My 6 year old does not like them, just a taste preference, but they were a hit with everyone else! Will definitely make again...keeping a closer eye on them :) **UPDATE - My 6 year old decided to give these another try once they were refrigerated. They're a hit!! I decided to take advice from other reviews and try these after refrigerating...I have to say myself that these were quite better this way!

Garlic Bubble Ring

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
What can I say?...Absolutely AMAZING! This bread was so good, we couldn't stop eating it...even after we were stuffed! Previous reviews were right, it does make a lot a butter sauce, but I used the extra to baste as it cooked. I thawed 2 loaves, so I baked one as a whole loaf and basted the entire outside of the bread before placing in the pan, as well as basted this one as it cooked. I had to cover with foil towards the end of the baking time to keep it from getting too dark, but that's typical when baking bread or anything with a crust. This was a complete hit in our household, and probably the easiest, yummiest thing I've ever made! Can't wait to make more! And can't wait to post the picture I have of my wonderful bread!

Meatball Orzo Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
This is currently cooking in the crock pot at my house for dinner tonight...SMELLS DELICIOUS!...can't wait! **UPDATE: I really liked this soup, it was very hearty and had a great taste. I added spinach instead of zucchini to it and used the small frozen Italian meatballs. I had no complaints myself, and my father-in-law to be really liked it too! Everyone else, however, could not eat this! My 6 yr old daughter couldn't stomach the looks of the soup long enough to even taste it...and I have to admit, it's definitely not a pretty site...but if you can get past the looks, the taste is well worth it! My fiance also couldn't stomach it...he had texture issues with the spinach and the pasta. I would highly recommend not adding the pasta until you're ready to eat it so the pasta doesn't get mushy...so leftovers may be an issue if you have a texture issue as well. Definitely worth making and trying!...Just don't look too long at it! :)

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
I marinated this dish overnight so that it was ready for my fiance to just throw in the oven for dinner the next evening. It was absolutely amazing! The potatoes didn't crisp up as I had hoped, but still had good flavor. Maybe I will try and cut them a little thinner next time?

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2011
OMGoodness! I marinated and wrapped the 2 chickens overnight so I could throw them in the oven the next evening...I don't know if the mainating time made a difference or not, but these were absolutely heavenly! Everything about this chicken was great! I did, however, add some poultry seasoning to the recipe when I made the rub...

Slow Cooker Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
By far the best porkchop I have EVER EVER tasted! I am not a huge pork fan and have steered away from porkchops most of my life...but these were AMAZING! They smelled absolutely heavenly while cooking and we all couldn't wait to eat at dinner time! When it was time to serve them, they fell right off the bone! Could barely scoop them out of the crock pot without them falling apart! My father-in-law and fiance raved over these porkchops forever...saying that they were the best they have ever tasted as well! I cut slices into the raw chop and sprinkled with garlic powder, salt, and pepper and pan fried for a few minutes on each side in a tablespoon of vegetable oil to just brown and get some flavor in the chop. I also did add a little Italian Seasoning instead of just Oregano, as well as a bit of onion powder to the liquid mixture. We saved the juice that the chops cooked in and froze it because it was so good we couldn't just trash it...will probably try and experiment with it cooking something else...or just maybe add it to the mix next time we cook chops. Will definitely be making these again...in the very NEAR future!

Linda's Monster Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
I quadruple checked the recipe to make sure I wasn't missing anything...because the dough was so dry. I've never seen anything like it...it was like raking through sand. That's even after adding peanut butter to the recipe which should help hold the mix together. When baking, they didn't spread like cookies should...couldn't even tell that they were baking unless I checked the bottom. I followed the recipe exactly except for the peanut butter, which should have been an aide instead of a hinder...had to add a few tablespoons of water to get a better consistency. Everyone loved the taste though...I'm still teetering in the middle over this recipe.

Decorator Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
This was a very yummy frosting! My kids had a great time using it for their cookies. It not as stiff as I would have liked it to be, so I just added a little more confectioners sugar to it. Stacked great for storage too! Definitely a keeper!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2011
These cookies are great in taste and just the right consistency! I love a soft sugar cookie! My kids loved them and it was so easy to throw together...although I forgot how much I hate working with sugar cookie mix. Even after chilling overnight, you have to work so fast so it doesn't get sticky. Frustrating...but worth the effort for the kids! This is a definite keeper and my go-to recipe for sugar cookies from now on!

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2011
Ok, so I didn't do the recipe at all...but at least I'm not one of those people who are going to change the recipe completely and give it a bad rating! Instead of the cookie mix, I used breadsticks for this and dipped them in garlic, parmesan, butter. I'm only writing this review because I thought the concept of these were so creative and loved the idea!!! Thanks so much!
