Baked Ziti III

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
This is a good recipe, very tasty. I will replace my old baked Ziti recipe with this one. Used only 1 jar of sauce and it was enough. I also added 1 clove of garlic with the onion.

London Broil II

meh. Wasn't bad. Has a bar-b-que taste to it from the ketchup. It does make the meat much more flavorful.

Meh. The sauce was a bit to watery and it was just okay. I probably won't make this again.

Swedish Meatballs I

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2012
Did not like this recipe. I took the advice of others and used Marla's meatball recipe and the meatballs themselves were good. The sauce turned out really thick and frankly the color is off putting. That may have been overlooked if the sauce tasted amazing, but it doesn't. Definitely won't make this again.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
If you don't have a wok maybe this will help. I don't have a wok. I made this recipe once before and it was so so. The meat was chewy and the veggies were bland and I figured it was because I didn't use a wok. This time I deconstructed it a little and it came out much better. First I combined the soy sauce, rice wine, sugar, corn starch, ginger, and garlic in a small sauce pan to simmer. That gave the sauce time to thicken. I steamed my veggies by themselves so they kept more flavor. I cut my meat super thin to help it cook quickly and not get chewy, I threw it in a skillet with some olive oil and let it cook just till it was slightly pink in the middle. Drained the water/juice from the meat, added the veggies, and poured the sauce over both. Served over rice. Turned out much better this time and I will make it again. I made extra sauce because it didn't seem to have enough on the first try. I also added a bit more brown sugar to the sauce as it seemed a bit to salty at first.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Yum! I followed the recipe exactly except that I used 2 cans of dice tomato with garlic, basil, and oregano. I only used half of the juice from the second can and I let the sauce reduce. I used penne pasta because I hate anything spaghetti shaped and the ridges in the penne hold onto sauce better. I like the lightness of the sauce but don't worry it is still big on flavor. I will be making this recipe again and again.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2012
Good chicken. I used fresh ginger and it was a little strong in the ginger flavor for me so I will use less next time. Definitely double the sauce as others have suggested. Other than that I made it just as the recipe states and it was yummy.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This recipes isn't amazing but it is pretty good. I will make this again and look through the other reviews for some modification ideas. It was a little bland for our taste so I added more salt and pepper and some butter - everything's better with butter. All in all though a solid recipe.

Not bad but, just so-so. Easy to make but my family didn't really care for it and now I have left overs I will end up throwing away.

While I am a completer chocoholic (everything is better with chocolate) I have never really had a chocolate chocolate chip cookie that I really liked. This recipe is awesome. These cookies are delicious.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Wow! I would give this 10 stars if I could. This is awesome. I did scale back the pepper because my children do not like hot things. There was still plenty of heat though. I will make this again and again.

This is a good recipe, my family didn't really like it because it tastes like it should be on chicken instead of steak, maybe I will try that sometime.

Very good. Makes quite a bit of gravy but it is very tasty. I made it with beef broth instead of water as another reviewer suggested.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
Excellent recipe. Made it exactly like the recipe and they were delicious. The topping was a little heavy and some reviewers noted that their topping sank while the muffins were baking. My topping was a little hard to work with because my butter was really soft so I ended up spreading it out on wax paper and peeling it off like a fruit roll up and laying on top of my muffins. Sounds strange but it really worked well.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2011
This is really good soup. My whole family likes it and they don't agree on much when it comes to food. The only thing I would suggest is that you keep your noodles seperate from the soup and only add them to the bowl before you are ready to eat. The noodles will soak up all of the broth if you don't them they are just mooshy and gross. This recipe makes a good amount of soup too.
