Sausage and Peppers for a Dozen

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2013
we LOVE this recipe! We use the Chunky Marinara recipe and the French bread Rolls to Die For from this site. It is a super crowd pleaser at my house. Friday nights are even happier with this recipe on hand.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
I loved this recipe. I added broccoli and carrots as some others did and baked the bacon. My family loved it especially since they had a choice of toppings like cheddar, bacon, sour cream and onions! I fried fish and had salad with it but didn't really need anything extra.

Fresh Pear Bread

This came out really nice but we did have to bake it a half hour longer in my oven. It was really sweet for a bread and I would all less sugar next time.

Thickened up quickly and tasted just fine. I will use this again, whenever a recipe calls for the canned stuff.

Quick and Super Easy Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
I give this five stars for being an excellent base. Just tried this out tonight and LOVED IT! The flour in the dumplings made for a very nice gravy my husband noted. I did at pepper, thyme and garlic. I sauteed onion, celery and carrots and added the liquid to that and let it soften the carrots for about 10 mins and then added the chicken and dumplings. I think I'll try rotissierre (sp?)chicken next time around for a more succulent meat. For my first dumpling recipe I was impressed with myself.

Almond Butter

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
This recipe is GREAT! I've been wanting to make a nut butter and heard how easy it was and how much healthier than store bought. My 3 year old, a somewhat picky kid has taken to peanut butter sandwiches and I thought I would try making it. It came out perfectly and the 3yo had a sandwich straight from the food processor and came back quickly for another sandwich. My chef of a daughter (she is 12) loved it and was amazed how easy it is. I added about a teaspoon of honey to sweeten it a little like other reviewers mentioned. Thanks Amy!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2012
Loved it! I have only ever made boxed cornbread and stepped out on faith on this one. Everyone loved it and told me that they liked it way better than the boxed stuff. Now I don't know what to do with my two last boxes of Jiffy. Guess I'll bless my mother-in-law with them.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
I have made these twice in one week. My family loved them so much they decided that this is our newest go to for Christmas cookies. I also made them for our church family that came back to me for seconds. GOOD GOOD GOOD Oh and a tip I tried and worked very well was spraying my hands with a little cooking spray so the dough didn't stick to me. Hope that helps and Happy baking!

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2012
This is the greatest mac'and cheese recipe I've ever had in my life. My family proclaimed it was even better than my grandmother's. I did think that salting the macaroni made the overall dish a little to salty so I didn't add salt to the sauce.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2013
I have made the so many times before and every time they always come out delicious! Hope you and your family love these cookies and keep the recipe. Although this delectable cookie looks good it takes a long amount of time to make them (longer than most cookies which is about 5-12 minutes) They are also super easy to make and you can of course tweak the recipe to add walnuts, macadamia nuts more or less chocolate or even none at all!

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
This was my first shepherd's pie and I made alterations based on what I had on hand and other reviewers. I used ground turkey instead of beef. I used a tablespoon of Worstershire sauce and Gravy Master when I prepared it and sauteed my veggies with olive oil and about 1 1/2 tablespoons of crushed garlic. I added corn and frozen peas and carrots. It was wonderful! Everyone had at least two helpings, even my very picky daughter.

Wonton Wrappers

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2013
Honestly, this is a great recipe for wonton wrappers. My 13 yo that cooks...a lot, made them with no trouble in the preparation. The only really big issue is rolling this business out is HARD! We have since decided while it is nice to make wonton wrappers at home it is like making your own butter, it's just energy and cost effective to buy them from the store. The materials cost about as much at the store as buying the stuff and making it at home AND it taste just the same. But it was a fine recipe

Coconut Macaroons III

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2014
A helpful tip is only use half-three quarters of the ice cream scoop and then round it a little with your hands. I really like this recipe! It is extremely easy to make. If your 9 year old knows his/her way around the kitchen they will be easy peasy to make. I started making my dad these every year for his birthday about 3 years ago.
