Kristin's Fudgy Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 7, 2011
I followed the recipe as written, no substitutions or additions. The brownie had a strange texture, not really a brownie or a cake some where in the middle very airy and somewhat chewy. Don't get me wrong it was good, will get eaten, even better with some icing on top. I just don't think I would make again.

Lemon Pie Bars

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
Yummy lemon bars perfect amount of sweet and sour, the base of the bar was fine for the amount of curd. The only change I made was to use regular white sugar for the crust 1/2 cup instead of icing sugar. Will use this recipe again thanks.

Chinese Restaurant Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
Needed to make changes to recipe, after reading reviews it was obvious that the dough was going to be too dry. So I was careful not to add all the flour and at 2 1/4 cups it started to get crumbly. Did use 3 tsp of almond extract as well. Baked with egg wash on top it also helped hold the almond in place and gave the cookie a more traditional appearance, kept in oven for 20 min till light golden brown. With all the recommended changes it was a nice Chinese cookie.

Swedish Sticky Chocolate Cake (Kladdkaka)

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Fast to make a real sugar fix for sure, turned out just as described a bit like brownies but much sweeter than the average one. Buttery, not too chocolaty and soft, yum, could eat the entire pan :)

Gooey Butter Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
4 cups of powdered sugar? I couldn't make myself do it, so only added 2 1/2. There seemed to be something missing in the topping as I remember from Paula Deen the 1/2 cup of butter to the cream cheese mixture. Well thats why they call it a butter cake you would think so I added it. Very good with those changes, and plenty sweet.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Cookie tasted ok but the dough was dry and crumbly but still spread to much in the pan, made a mess so just put the candy on top of the cookie half way threw the baking process.

Empire Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2011
I double the recipe, and used a piece of towel dried maraschino cherry for the top did not want to buy or spend money on candy cherries. The cookies were awesome, not too sweet even with the sugar glaze, my favorite cookie to eat so far. If your not a big chocolate fan try these so yummy.

Ultimate Double Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
Did not like the way the recipe was written 10 tbsp of butter who does that? Whats wrong with using cups? Also used 1 tsp of baking soda instead of powder I did not have powder and it also made the cookies less cake like. After all was said and done the cookies came out nice, soft, crunchy around the edge and chewy not too chocolaty, did not taste like a brownie.

Fruit Cocktail Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Not the pretties cake, actually looks terrible but the taste makes up for the looks. The recipe seems long and arduous but its actually simple and did not change a thing. The cake is dense, sweet but not too sweet, chewy with small bits of fruit and nuts overall a winner, yummy. Will make again.

A tasty muffin nothing spectacular about it, the recipe should be more clear that the brown sugar is for the topping.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2011
Good base for banana bread but I mashed the banana no offense but to slice them as the recipe called for they would be brown blobs of banana in just a few hours. Don't really want to bite into brown banana mush.

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
Was o.k not enough caramel to coat the popcorn properly, when baked in the oven makes the caramel hard like dry sugary fudge . Tried this recipe twice to give it a fair try, threw most of it in the garbage kids not impressed. Too much work not worth the money in ingredients.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
I used 4oz of cream cheese a whole egg and 1/2 cup or so of more flour. Rolled the cookies on parchment paper since the dough was so soft. They turned out really tasty and tender, very yummy.
