Eastern North Carolina BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
PERFECT!!! My father in law is from Albemarle, NC and he has always raved about the bbq. I made this sauce for him and he said it is exactly like what he used to get in the Eastern carolina bbq joints. Me being from southern Colorado and used to the sloppy sticky sweet sometimes spicy red sauce, I had no idea what the difference was. I made this recipe along with a slow roasted pork butt recipe from one of my favorite food network stars Anne Burell. I am now an EASTERN Norh Carolina BBQ lover and I will NEVER go back!!!

Super easy and tasty sloppy Joe

I am rating my own recipe because I forgot to put in the recipe that you should add a dash of liquid smoke and salt and pepper to taste.

Applesauce Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2011
This cake was very good! I made it for my husband who des not like raisins, so I left them out and it came out great. I also used two round cake pans instead of a tube pan and frosted the cake with the "White cake frosting I" recipe from this website. VERY PLEASED!

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
Very easy and tasty! I did mine in the crock pot with elk tenderloin. I prefer mine a little thicker, like a gravy consistency and I also added more salt. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Deep South Fried Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
This recipe is PERFECT! Thank you so much for sharing! I took the advice of another reviewer and brined the chicken for about an hour. We are big chicken eaters and I have been wanting to try brining and figured this was the perfect opportunity. The cooking time was perfect, my first batch of 5 legs I cooked 15 minutes longer because I was afraid it would not be done...BIG MISTAKE..it was dry and way over done. I did the next batch of 5 EXACTLY as the recipe said and it was juicy and crisp and absolutely PERFECT.
