Poor Man's Pecan Pie

Reviewed: May 26, 2004
I think this pie would be better with a light corn syrup. Mine needed about an hour to cook

Applesauce Bars

Reviewed: May 20, 2004
I had no idea how moist applesauce cakes could be. I was very impressed. Sure the discription always says moist when making cakes from scratch but what you usually end up with is a dense heavy cake. Now I am writing this review as a "cake" becuase that is what I made. I doubled the recipe and kept it in a 9x13 and it came out moist and delicious. No need for frosting just powderd sugar on top. I will definatly keep this recipe on hand. It tastes better than most boxed spice cakes.

very good, but I must say there is no substitution for sesame oil.

Creamy Orange Glorious

Reviewed: May 11, 2004
I have tried almost all of the "orange & cream" drinks and this one just was not very good. I used pierrer for the carbonated water and I just did not like the taste of it. The recipe was to large to fit in my blender and for the fat content the taste just was not worth it. I will definatley stick to the oj and milk recipes.

Quick and Easy Monkey Bread

Reviewed: May 8, 2004
I used the regular Rhodes dinner rolls and cut them into fourths. instead of layering the different sugars I threw them all together and dipped the roll peices in butter. all in all it came out well but did not hold together coming out of the pan.

Mayonnaise Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2004
I usually use the J.P. Big Daddy Biscuits from this site. I tried this recipe beccause I am always looking for something new. The taste was very good with melted butter on top; better than that of J.P's . That said I have to say I like the heighth that I get from J.P's biscuits better than these. I would really like to be able to blend the two recipes somehow.

Tater Tot Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2004
excellent! I mixed the mushroom soup and milk to the meat instead of topping the tots. Try adding some taco seasoning to the meat mix and tossing the tots in taco seasoning as well. I did not have cheese so I brushed a little butter on tots so they were extra crispy. Yumm

very good if your looking for more of a candy corn. For kettle corn I would use less sugar.

Incredible Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2004
Very good. I did not have any garlic salt so I used good ol' Johny seasoning salt. I like my chicken "fall apart done" so I cooked mine 20 min longer than called for, but may have been because I used whole chicken leg quarters. Will definatly keep this recipe handy.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2004
ohh yummy! I used 4 large homemade dinner rolls. 3 eggs per other reviews. extra cinn. and nutmeg. The special touch was a homemade caramel sauce that I drizzled over the bread with the butter and on top when it was done. verry good stuff!

Crisp Chocolate Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2004
I really wanted this recipe to work but I just could not get these cookies to "roll" for me. When making this recipe make a double batch of the cookie dough so you have enough to play with until you get it right and unless you have help, make only a few at a time because they harden to fast.
