Magic Lemon Pie

Excellent recipe!!! Easy, too. I used an extra egg (both yolk & white) and made sure to mix the yolk and milk well before adding the lemon. I also made my own crust with graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. I will be making this again...and I am picky about my recipes.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Perfect basic recipe - it's exactly what it's supposed to be! Just make sure you grill on a temperature that's closer to low than medium....the cheese needs to melt AND the bread has to toast (not burn).

Dessert Crepes

A perfect recipe for crepes! You can't go wrong if you have the correct small frying pan & you don't put too much batter in the pan....I thought the sprinkled sugar on top was delicious (I put strawberries & toasted almonds inside with a little whipped cream; even the lemon & sugar with nothing else was surprisingly tasty). I think it would be good for a group -- if you could make them one by one (or two by two if you had a second pan) to make them hot & fresh. This recipe is a keeper.

Apple-Curry Tuna Melts

This recipe is AMAZING!!! I'll never eat another regular tuna sandwich again....I only had yellow mustard on hand, but it made no difference. I don't often hand out a 5 star rating, but this deserves it!

Hungarian Mushroom Soup

Delicious! I'll definitely make again. I love the combination of all the spices; I used low fat sour cream & 1% milk with olive oil instead of butter, & it was delicious. I also put in a package of reconstituted shitake with the water I used to reconstitute it. I accidently doubled the sour cream, but it was still delicious! The more onions & mushrooms, the better!

Delicious! I made an error by forgetting to firmly pushing down on the cookies, so they are a little loosely packed, but the taste is unaffected! Will make again. I used peanuts (unsalted) -- worked out great.

Spinach Brownies

It was delicious (I could've eaten the whole pan out of the oven!). I did do a few substitutions for the health factor: I used about 1/4 cup of grapeseed oil instead of the 1/2 cup butter; a little less than the whole cup of cheese, and only about a 1/8 teaspoon of salt. And it was still 5 stars---my 1 year old loved it!

Very good - I would use less wine (personal taste) and use more onions next time. I used half butter and half olive oil to sautee the onions and it was still delicious.

Simple Mexican Rice

This was pretty good! I think there was a little too much tomato paste, cause I would've liked it to be stickier. It needed a little kick of something spicy too. I also am not sure about the whole "baking" thing, instead of making it the usual way on the stove.

Shiitake Angel Hair Pasta

I used coffee cream instead of heavy cream, and I used a little flour to thicken...it worked out perfectly; I used more onion & garlic, & added a little cooked chicken that I had around. I only gave it four stars because it needed a little something to give a it a little kick -- maybe I didn't add enough parmesan or salt at the end. Still, it was certainly worth making again; and next time I'd like to use double the shitake mushrooms next time.

Mexican Vegetable Rice

Excellent rice recipe. I used a tablespoon of paprika with and red pepper flakes instead of cayenne pepper; also I used the suggestion to omit vegetables and double the tomato and the garlic. I will put a little something extra in next time - like garlic powder and maybe chilie powder.
