Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
These are wonderful. No doubt about it. I am going to make them for the mini meatball sandwiches featured on Pioneer Woman's website. They will be perfect little delectable bites of goodness.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This were pretty good cookies, but not as good as I had hoped. They were kind of cakey and I guess I wasn't expecting that. But, they are very soft and have a good flavor that would please most people.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
This is a really good, simple side dish recipe. Do serve it immediately because the cheese will harden quickly.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: May 20, 2010
My family didn't care for the flavor of the marinade very much. It didn't taste bad, but it didn't really taste good either. Although, I must say that I used it for grilled boneless, skinless chicken breasts and they came out extremely tender. We used dipping sauces with it and it was fine. I just didn't care for the taste alone.

Mom's Incredible Spinach Gratin

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I LOVE this dish. It is so wonderful to take to holiday dinners. Even people that say that do not like spinach will absolutely love this. It is addictive and you will want more and more.

Exchange Gang Pasta with Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I was really pleased with this recipe. It was satisfying and had a good combination of flavors. I made a few changes, but nothing that would greatly affect the flavor. I doubled the sauce and added the sauce components directly to the noodles. After everything was hot, I stirred in a couple of beaten eggs to thicken. I kept the tomatoes whole because I like how they pop open in your mouth when they are cooked just right. I made the veggies and shrimp separate because I wanted a more "layered" pasta as compared to having everything integrated. Thanks for the recipe! We will be having it again.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I have been using this recipe for a long time now and just realized I never reviewed it. You will never want to buy jarred pizza sauce again. This is the only recipe you need. It is easy and tastes wonderful!

Bread Machine Challah for Shabbat and Festivals

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
I thought this bread came out very well. I have never had Challah bread before this, so I don't really know how it should taste. It was delicious though. It was simple and I had no issues with the dough at all. It was very nice and easy to work with.

Ranch-Style Party Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
I love this dip and I have been making it for a long time. My suggestion is to make sure that you are using the ranch "dressing" mix and not the ranch "dip" mix. I also puree the dip because I like a more smoothe consistency. That is just a personal preference and will differ person to person. This is great with chips and veggies and anything else that someone may want to dip into ranch dip!

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
This is my favorite 7 layer salad by far. I usually double the dressing and make a slightly larger salad to take to pot lucks or other parties. The salad is beautiful and the dressing really tastes wonderful.

Lime-Berry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
I really liked this salad. It is nice to have something different. It is very fresh and bright tasting. I did use glazed pecans for the pecans since that is what I had on hand. Next time, I will toast the pecans with a brown sugar, worcestshire, and tabasco glaze. The spiciness will contrast with the sweetness in this salad very well. I will aslo add some red onion because I am a red onion fan. I must say that as far as my house goes, I think this recipe is appropriate for a more adult palate. Three of my four children did not like it, but the youngest one (7 years old) really liked it.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2010
If I could give this recipe, 4.5 stars I would. Prepared as is, this recipe is much to salty for me. Beans definitely need salt to bring out their flavor, but this was just too much. I continue to use this recipe all the time, but I just add a small amount of salt while cooking and then add it to taste at the end. I also use this to make refried black beans. Very yummy!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I tried this recipe, but made a couple of substitutions. I omitted the paprika because I was out. I added ground chipotle pepper for part of the black pepper. The seasoning was very good. The added smokiness from the chipotle was wonderful. My kids ate better than they ever do. They said it tasted like Taco Bell. I found that amusing, but that is a very good review coming from them. I did not find it to taste like Taco Bell though. This had so much more flavor and was very good. I will use this recipe from now on.

Fierro Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This recipe was just 'okay'. I am not really sure why it has so many great reviews. It is really bland, but it was alright for one night. We probably won't have it again.

Sweet Cornbread Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
I am the original submitter. I just wanted to note that if you decide to use buttermilk, you should add some baking soda. Baking soda neutralizes the acidity of the buttermilk so that the flavor comes out rich and not tart/sour.

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2003
Despite conflicting reviews on whether the cookies will set or not following the given directions, I decided to follow the recipe to the "T". I made sure the ingredients that are meant to come to a boil came to a full rolling boil while stirring. At that point, I set a timer for 1 minute and continued stirring while the mixture boiled. As soon as I put in the remaining ingredients, I knew the cookies were not going to set properly. I went ahead and put them out on the waxed paper. Usually, no bake cookies set fairly rapidly upon cooling, but these did not. The kids couldn't wait any longer and were scooping the cookies up with a spoon and eating them. By the next morning, about 12 hours later, they had set enough to at least be able to pick them up. They were still a little more "wet" than most no bake cookies. Even though they took awhile to set, they still tasted fine. In my opinion, the sticky ones are much better than coming out with dry, crumbly cookies.
