I made this recipe and followed it except for the fact that i mashed the banana that this called for and added it to the cream mixture and then sliced 1 banana and arranged it over the bottom of the crust. i baked it only for ten minutes because i didn't want the top to get a crust over it. When it came out I topped it using the recipe for meringue that was included in the recipe for banana cream pie V from this same site. I than chilled it for 3 hours and when i sliced it it was soup! So I tried it again this time adding 1 tablespoon of cornstarch,adding an extra egg yolk, mashing 1 banana, and slicing the rest. Than I cooked it for 15 minutes, (it did get a slight crust) and refrigerated for at least 3 hrs, topped it with meringue, cooked the meringue with a blowtorch, and it was fantastic!
