Simple Grilled Lamb Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
I was a little concerned about using vinegar as a marinade here, but took a chance based on the reviews....it was FANTASTIC! We loved these chops and so did our 2 and 5 year old children. They were super-easy to prepare. You HAVE to keep the onions and do this : make a little tray using two layers of aluminum foil. Spray it with cooking spray and place (drained onions) on it and carefully place tray on grill, alongside the chops. We cooked our chops on med-hi for 8 mins. exactly and in that time the onions cooked and carmelized a bit and man, they were tasty. Next time I will at least double the onions, they were that good. Also, I would not recommend leaving the chops in any longer than the 2 hours stated in the recipe.

Butter Cream Frosting I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2005
This frosting is AWESOME. It is rich and creamy and very tasty. I might suggest that people had problems with it being runny etc. because they did not beat it long enough in the mixer. Mine was creamy and fluffy and I beat it on high for at least 3 mins. (I also used whipping/heavy cream instead of milk.) Try this! Excellent on dark chocolate cake.

Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2003
The best meatloaf I've ever had (and I'm not usually a big fan). I added an extra 1b. of extra-lean gr. beef and some bread crumbs (3/4 cup) as per other's comments about it being to 'liquidy'. Turned out delicious.

Buckeyes II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2003
Delicious! I like this Buckeye recipe because it has the graham crumbs in it. Gives them a bit more body and firmness. Try them!

Sugar Free Granola

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2002
Delish!! This is the recipe I have been looking for. My husband and I are trying to cut out sugar- refined and things like honey, syrup etc- so this recipe is perfect. Great nutty, toasty flavour and just a hint of sweetness. Merci Isadore!!

Pumpkin Gobs

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
These are awesome, filled or not. I even made them healthier by subbing 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour for 3/4 cup of the a.p. flour. Great result. Used this filling recipe : 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 cup icing sugar, 1 cup marshmallow fluff (about half a jar), 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat with a mixer until light and fluffy.

Cookie Pops

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
These were awesome. I had to make 2 minor changes, due to a lack of the called-for ingredients. I used half butter and half vegetable shortening, and I used chocolate chips instead of candy-coated pieces. The kids loved the novelty of eating these off the sticks.

Beef with Vegetables

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2003
Very good and very kid-friendly (not too spicy, garlicky or salty). I used a sirloin steak and marinated it in soy sauce for about 10 minutes before cooking. My 18 mth old loved it! Used carrots, snow peas, bean sprouts, sweet red pepper and mushrooms.

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2002
These were great. I used grilled pork instead of shrimp (b/c its what i had). Also, I tried both dipping sauces and they were excellent! I did add a bit more chili sauce, though, as we found it not spicy enough. Thanks Paula.

Baked Fresh Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2003
This pie was okay, but it lacked the 'WOW' factor I was expecting after reading all the glowing reviews. I didn't like the tapioca element as it made the filling very firm and not juicy at all. Would not make it again.

Pork Chops 'n' Pierogies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
The pork was moist and tender, but we found the perogies didn't taste good in the sweet and sour-ish sauce. Won't make it again.

Lunch Box Hot Hot Dogs

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
HA! My Mom used to make us these when we were kids (in the '70's!). We loved it! I can only imagine they are even better today as the thermos's are better and would keep the hot dogs hotter. Can't wait to try this for my son this school year. Thanks for the memories :)

Hash Brown Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2003
I made this recipe with a few modifications in order to make it in a large 9 x 13 pan (fed 6 very hungry people!) Used 4 cups hashbrowns, 1 can flaked ham, used green onion, added 1/4 cup diced red pepper, used 1 cup milk and increased eggs to 6. Will add more cheese next time too. Everyone loved it. Thanks Karen!

Honey Garlic Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
These ribs were very easy and really tasty. One (big) problem though, was the mess it made in my oven! I would recommend using a deep dish pan as opposed to a cookie sheet as the sauce kept bubbling over into the oven and burning and smoking. Not fun to clean up.

Florida Strawberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
Wow- we loved these muffins too. I used juicy, fresh local strawberries and so had lots of juice to add. I also added about 3 Tbsp. of buttermilk to the liquid after reading reviews about batter being too stiff. They turned out perfect. I am planning on making another batch tomorrow!

Whit's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2006
Oh My Goodness Good! First of all, make sure your pan is well-greased/sprayed! After reading all the reviews I decided to tweak the recipe this way: shredded the chicken, added one chopped onion to the garlic saute, left out the chilies (small kids) but put hot salsa on top of some before baking, only used 2/3 pkg light cream cheese, added about 1 Tbsp. taco seasoning powder to mixture, covered with foil for the frist half of baking, then removed it. Sounds like alot of changes, but they are minor ones. The ratio of chicken mixture to tortillas (8) was perfect for nice big enchiladas. Delish!

Angel Biscuits I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2003
Loved these - my first time making and tasting 'Angel Biscuits', but definitely not may last time. Made them in my KitchenAid mixer - could not be easier. I only used 1 Tbs of sugar and they turned out fine. Thanks for posting this recipe!
