About this Cook
I am a mother of 3 fabulous children and 1 FurKitty! I enjoy being with my family doesn't matter what we are doing as long as we are together. I am an AVID cat lover and outdoors kind of gal. I love the lake and anything pertaining to the lake like, boating, beach swimming, gathering some sun sitting by, the sunset over the lake, ect... I love to cook and am not afraid to try new things. The newest food item I have tried was alligator and snake and I will tell you I loved them both and would definitely eat them again. I am one of those try something once before I decide to hate it! I have a Degree in Mortuary Science that I busted through, it was very hard work and I graduated in November 24, 2005! I charish life and believe all trials and tribulations have a reason and helps you serve your purpose. Things happens for many reason, although we dont know what it is, we learn in time truths beyond measure!
My favorite things to cook
I just love to cook... You give me a challenge and I will truimph, LOL...I love to slow cook and make soups in the winter, Seafood/fish/fresh veggies and baked fruits in the spring, I like heavy spiced stuff in the Fall like pumpkin, clove, and mexican tang, And last but not least the summer calls for BBQ, grilling almost anything will work, sandwhiches off all kinds (cold and warm) and pastas!!! Yumm-O as Rachael Ray would say!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Let's see the dishwasher has to be empty and all dishes clean before we cook anything, it doesn't matter what is going on, I HAVE TO COOK IN A CLEAN KITCHEN! lol... I can't go to bed without having a clean kitchen, it's a pet peeve of mine and I good one... We have a specific cake we make every Thanksgiving and Christmas, a Pumpkin Cake, cupcakes, cookies ( I will post recipe, it requires 2 items and bake, EASY!). My family loves pumpkin! We have to have a stool, it is required for the little chefs who insist on helping : ) MOST IMPORTANT---->Lots of laughter, chat, and love.... My #1 RULE for the kitchen- NO FIGHTING, Lots of helping!
My cooking triumphs
I have finally mastered Grilling, it took me a few years to get it right, but I know now how to grill on my own! Hurray for me and those eating it! lol Seafood, fish, crawfish boil, cajun, baking anything, inventing new stuff is really what I am best at. Someone says, man, we don't have anything here to eat, an hour later I have made a meal... I usually get a WOW! That makes me happy, so I am more of an inventor in the kitchen! I call it old fashioned country cooking... or maybe I am a thrill seeker in my kitchen, who knows which...
My cooking tragedies
One year, I was making a BIG meal for a birthday party, I do not know what happened exactly, but the pyrex casserole dish shattered in the sink while I was holding it. Scared the bajeezies out of me and I was totally humiliated to tears, so I ran outside... Thank goodness, family cleaned it up so fast before I got back in and acted like nothing happened, what a nice thing for them to do! I have dried out and wasted so much meat learning to grill before I perfected it! And I have a tendency to cook for an army, so I used to throw away lots of leftovers before I learned how to freeze my own TV dinners. I still want a foodsaver! I burned myself really bad cooking with a microwave in 2008, so I tend to use the oven more than most ppl do... I was a really bad burn too.

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast
This is the best tasting, slow cooker pork roast recipe I have ever found, I also add a little thicker version of this sauce to pour on top while it cooks and it bakes on it like ketchup does to meatloaf! Yummy recipe, my family thanks you!
