Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2006
I can't imagine giving this just 5 stars! One of the best recipes I've tried from this site. I wouldn't change a thing, except the amount of salt used...followed the rest of the measurements and directions to a T and received RAVE reviews from everyone at the table!

Asian Coconut Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
I made some Thai food the other night and this actually complimented quite nicely. Sprinkling with toasted coconut and cilantro is a MUST. A word of caution as well. Due to the sugar in the recipe, this has the potential to burn. I had to keep a close eye on the pot!

Asian Roll Lettuce Wrap

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
This was a quick supper and although it tasted fairly decent, it was missing something. I added some heat to my bowl of dippng sauce in the form of red chili paste...it did the trick. If I make these again I may also add some bean sprouts to the wraps. Overall, a good recipe to build on.

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
Delicious! I didn't have canned chili peppers so I threw in some green pepper and some canned jalepenos. This added the little kick of heat I was looking for! I also added about a 1/2 tsp of brown sugar at the end, which brings out the flavours even better. Can't wait for my hubby to try this...I know he's going to love it. Thanks D!

Honey Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
This is a keeper. I had to make a few changes based on what I had on hand. I used apple cider instead of the pineapple juice and i used stone ground whole wheat flour instead of all purpose. After I let the mixture sit for the required 3 hours i had to add more apple cider because th ewhole wheat flour is more dense. These turned out with just the right moistness and flavour. i made jumbo muffins and the recipe yielded 20 muffins. Thanks for a great recipe!

Baked Pork Chops II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I didn't have any dry mustard on hand so I used dijon. I also used this with 8 thin pork chops and the sauce amount was perfect. It thickened beautifully. I served the chops with, and drizzled the sauce over, roasted garlic mashed potatoes. Good comfort food!!

Enjoyed this as lunch today. The secret is to make your own hummus, otherwise I think it would only be mediocre.

Sorry to give this a low rating, but I found this rather bland, and even a little dry.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: May 23, 2003
Delicious!!! My 4 year old daughter devoured her portion, which says a lot because she's not much of a pan cake fan. To jazz up the final presentation, I served them with maple syrup and real whipped cream enhanced with a bit of brandy extract. Now we all know how well bananas and brandy pair together, so it almost goes without saying that I was in breakfast heaven this morning!! Thanks Andrea for this excellent recipe! I will be using it often.

Marinated Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 7, 2003
Convenient. Although this did not "knock my socks off", I liked it because it used the type of ingredients one always has on hand. I think it's a better alternative to barbecue sauce, because it's not as thick, and the sauce sort of soaks into the meat, flavoring it a bit more. Thanks Kim for an easy supper.

Honey Ginger Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2003
I used good ol' Canadian maple syrup in lieu of the honey (it is sweeter than honey so I didn't use the same measurement as for the honey). I increased the ginger to 1/8 tsp. We really, really enjoyed thses carrots. Yummy! Will be using this often.
