Hazelnut Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2003
Thanks Dave for a great chicken recipe. I used brandy and whatever other liquer I had on hand - I don't think it has to be hazelnut liquer to taste good. I made this as a mid week dinner and impressed everyone. The chicken was very moist and tender and the hazelnuts in the crust had a great flavour - and I don't normally like nuts! Even warmed up the next day it still tasted great! Thanks!

Indonesian Satay

Thank you Estherlita! My 6 year old daughter couldn't get enough - she ate more than my husband and myself. I accidentally opened up tomatoe soup and used that instead of the tomatoe sauce and it still turned out great. Thanks for this recipe - a definite do again.

Honey Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
Made this for my 6 year old daughter and my husband. My 6 year old is a shrimp lover. She ate it up and started eyeing her father's plate! My hubby did state that it had a strong Worchestire taste so I think I will do as mentioned and reduce the W sauce a bit to make it a little less over powering. Will make again though.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
Thanks Erica! My husband is a lover of rice pudding so I decided to give this quick recipe a try. He loved it! I ommitted the raisins (not a raisin lover) and had to add a bit more milk than stated. He ate it warm then devoured the leftovers cold. A great quick and easy recipe!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2003
Great sauce. I didn't bake my chicken though - live in Vancouver, B.C. with a climate that allows me to barbeque 365 days a year. I did double the recipe as noted by another reviewer. I made up the sauce, marinaded the chicken in the fridge for a couple of hours then grilled the chicken, basting with some sauce. I kept some sauce seperate and served it over rice. It was a hit with my company that night. I LOVE teriyaki sauce and will use this one again and again! Thanks Marian!

North Carolina-Style Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2003
I'm Canadian (Vancouver, B.C. area) and we don't have pulled pork but read the recipe and thought it sounded interesting. I did as another wrote and cooked my pork overnight in a slow oven wrapped in foil. By morning the pork was incredibly tender. The only down fall of this method - cooking at night - is you wake up smelling it and get hungry! Made this as a "trial" recipe at my husband's 35 birthday party - we had 15 for dinner and it was a huge success. Will definitely make it again! Thanks!

Marinade for Chicken

Very easy. Very yummy. Marinaded the chicken boobs overnight and then barbecued them. Had company over and got rave reviews. Will make again.

Hot Honey Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2003
Gave this a try last night for something quick and easy. Was definitely quick and easy, however, the flavour of just the hot sauce, pepper and honey on the chicken was just so so. Just coated the outside of the chicken and didn't make my family go "wow". Might try marinading it next time to see if that gives the meat a bit more wham.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2003
I marinaded whole chicken breasts and cooked them on the grill instead of cubing chicken and using as kebobs. The flavour was still incredible and the chicken was incredibly moist. My husband said a definite "do again". Used the leftover chicken in wraps for lunch - a bit of barbeque sauce, sauteed onions and melted cheese - was delicious too! Good recipe.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2003
My husband is not a hamburger fan but loves canned Manwiches. Well he said this was a 100% better than the canned Manwiches. I added a couple of shots of Worchestire sauce and added a bit of hot sauce to tame down the sweetness of the brown sugar. It is a definite "do again" recipe. I also doubled the recipe to make it saucy and to easily feed 4 with enough for one more leftover.
