Frogmore Stew

I hate to be the one to say that this is overrated because I wanted this to be a five star due to how fun it was to make and looked good. I thought it was ok, my BF thought it was not worth making again and my 12 yrs old said she loved the kilbasa I used.

Newport Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2005
First of all, I'm a New Englander, so I've had many great chowders in my lifetime and have to say this is just ok. I suggest adding pork fat and parsley instead of dill. Milk is also ok in place of 1/2 and 1/2.

Good flavor but too much cheese which made it thick, I added the chicken stock slowly like risotto.

Focaccia Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2005
People who complained about the dough probably didn't knead enough or let the dough rise. This came out wonderful. I added fresh sweet basil and put chopped onion and sliced tomatoes on top of bread. I omitted the mozzerella cheese and put more parm cheese instead.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2005
I sauteed mushrooms and onions first in a little butter and olive oil. Browned the chops then added mush/onion mixture. Added soup along with some milk and chicken stock to thin it out a little. Moist and delicious. I've also used white wine instead of milk as well.

I sauted the onions and garlic in with the meat. Then added 1 jar of sauce along with 1 can of stewed tomatoes., tomato paste and parm cheese. It was so hot I cooked on the grill. I also skipped the provolone. Next time I'll add more sauce.

Romano Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2005
My microwave took 7 minutes. This was so quick and delicious. I made this on a hot, humid day and was pleased not to have to use the oven. I used smoked ham packaged in the deli section and shredded swiss. I opened up a can of mexican corn tossed that in the microwave and I was eating in no time. Healthy meal!! indeed.

Portobello Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2005
Heavenly. I added some fresh basil and champagne vinegar to the mayo mixture. I LOVE THIS. I read some other viewers who had a problem with dripping, let the mushrooms cool a little then put a slice of tomato on each side of the bun this will help it not be soggy and the extra mayo makes the sandwich even better. I also like to shred my lettuce instead of leaving whole. I wouldn't mind having this over a regular cheeseburger.
