Meh... This was okay. My husband and son loved it. The girls and I weren't impressed. Even with all the pepper and hot sauce, it was still pretty bland to me. And between the batter and the flour it was a huge mess to make. I don't mind a mess if the outcome is fantastic, but if it is just okay, it doesn't stay in our rotation. We'll be looking for another chicken fried steak recipe.

Cowboy Oatmeal Cookies

This recipe was exactly what I was looking for. So soft and yummy! I followed the suggestions of a few other reviewers and upped the amount of oats to 3 cups and added 1 tsp. of vanilla. You basically want the cookie dough to roll easily in your hands without sticking. If it isn't firm enough or is too sticky, it's going to spread out too much and your cookies will look like pancakes. Once the dough was the right consistency, I just made 1 1/4 balls and set them 2 inches apart on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. I baked for 11 minutes, and they came out perfect. I can't wait to try this with chocolate chips.

Chicken Pot Pie V

My picky kids devoured this. I thought for sure that they'd turn their noses up, but they loved it. My husband even had 2 helpings. I wasn't crazy about the crust--it seemed bland and the sage had a weird taste. I'm not sure I'd make the same crust again, but everything else was very good. I did double the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup, and flour mixture--which was a good thing. I also doubled the crust, which was also a good thing or there wouldn't have been enough crust to cover the 2-quart dish. We'll probably make this again with a few modifications.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

These were edible, but certainly nothing special. I didn't care for the texture or the flavor. Won't be making them again.

London Broil II

This is the best London broil recipe I've found, but it still isn't good enough to make all that often. Nice for a change of pace, but not one of my treasured recipes.

Grecian Pork Tenderloin

My whole family raved about this recipe. It was gone by the next day. It is even great cold! We did decrease the lime juice (I believe we only added 1 cup). Otherwise, PERFECTION!

Kabob Marinade

VERY GOOD! I would say perfect, but it was a bit salty, and we reduced the soy sauce to 1/2 c. Next time I'll use a little less than that and try the low sodium soy sauce. We marinaded chicken for about 6 hours, and it was perfect. My husband raved all night about it.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

This was an okay recipe. It was a flop the first time I made it due to adding too much liquid per previous reviewers' suggestions. I ended up with decent results adding only 4 TBSP of liquid, but they still weren't as good as I was expecting. I'm still searching for that perfect scone recipe...

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

I've been using this recipe for over a year now, and I love it. We omit the nuts, but this is my new favorite cookie recipe! Really hits the spot when I need a chocolate fix! Try replacing 1 c. of the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips for a different taste. YUMMY!

Deluxe Waffles

Good, but not fabulous, which is what I expected from the reviews. This was a lot of mess for the end result. I had to dirty 3 bowls and go through 3 different steps for something that could just as easily be achieved with a mix.

Angel Hair Pasta with Shrimp and Basil

This is a decent recipe. We like it much better when we add a bit of crushed red pepper and top w/ feta cheese instead of parmesan. Kids won't eat it either way though.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Excellent pancake recipe--and I'm very picky about pancakes. I used bread flour for lighter fluffier pancakes. I also added an additional tbsp of sugar and tsp of vanilla. Yummy! All three kids loved them.

Hugh's Dry Rub

We used this rub on deep fried turkey at Easter, and it was fabulous. We got all kinds of raves from family members. We couldn't stop picking at it while my husband was carving it. :) We reduced the cayenne pepper b/c of the kids, but everyone still really loved this!
