Shredded Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
Just made this recipe and had to review! All my life I have hated Brussel Sprouts. On a whim I decided to give them another try and stumbled upon this recipe. Oh my goodness!! These are delicious. I only made 1/3 of the recipe because I didn't have enough Sprouts. I used my mandolin to shave the Sprouts which resulted in very uniform very precise cuts (and wasn't too messy). My only complaint with this recipe was the greasiness. I think in the future I would try cutting back on the amount of "oils" I used. So yummy!! Must try.

Sausage Egg Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2004
This recipe is pretty good. I did not like the chunks of flour you run into every once in awhile throughout the dish. This dish is not good reheated the next day. I think I'll stick to my old stand by recipe.

Pretty darn good, but not quite a five star. Easy to make, always a plus!

A Great Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
I took this salad to a pot luck today. It was a HUGE hit. Everyone wanted the recipe! Don't change ANYTHING, it is awesome just the way it is. One lady said she put her portion on top of salad and said it was awesome that way too. A great alternative to a lettuce salad especially at a pot luck where lettuce tends to get mushy.

Overnight Apple Cinnamon French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2004
This is an awesome recipe! I had a brunch today and everyone loved it. I used Texas Toast and was only able to use 12 slices. It was still VERY YUMMY. Definitly a keeper!

Oklahoma Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2004
These grits are AWESOME! I served these today at a brunch I hosted, and everyone loved them and wanted the recipe. I did take the advice of others about the salt. I added all of the seasoning salt becuase I love it's taste and then slowly added the regular salt tasting as I added. I ended up adding 2/3 teaspoon of salt and it was perfect. I highly recommend these grits!

Tasted like regular french toast to me. Nothing special.

Cheesy Sausage Zucchini Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2004
I made this recipe for a friend of mine who had just had a baby. I halved the recipe and fed both her family and mine. She and I both agreed this was a very "manly" recipe. Our husbands enjoyed the casserole, but we both thought it was just okay. Not disgusting but nothing we would cook again.

Apple Bacon Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2004
I was not impressed with this recipe. It was not terrible, but it was not as good as the other reviews made it out to be. I had to add a lot of salt. I put Parmesan Cheese on each serving which helped add some saltiness as well.

Prosciutto Parmesan and Pine Nut Bruschetta

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2004
This is a really good recipe. I made this for a "Tea". I set out butter the night before to make sure it was soft, but when I got up the next morning I realized some of the butter was salted and some was unsalted. It was still very good and disappeared very quickly! I found I didn't need as many pine nuts as the recipe called for.

Cheesy Breads

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2004
I love this appetizer. It is always a hit! DO NOT CHANGE A THING! I put the cheese on french bread baked in bread tubes to give the bread a pretty fluted affect. When you make this appetizer be prepared to have to give everyone the recipe!

Joe's Favorite Hamburgers

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2002
We made this recipe for a barbeque party we were having. Thank goodness we tried one before we served our guests! The burgers totally fell apart on the grill and made an awful mess! We tried adding more bread crumbs, tried egg, even tried frying, but it was still more like a meatloaf then a burger!! I will never make these again, and even had to make an emergency run to Wal-Mart for more hamburger to serve at our party!

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: May 22, 2002
This recipe is very easy as well as very good, but is lacking something. I will probably continue shopping around for an even better hummus recipe.
