Oreo® Cookie Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2004
This was very good and I will definitely be making this again. I used chocolate oreos (used my food processor to chop into bite size pieces), chocolate pudding and french vanilla whipped topping. Delicious! Thank you for sharing.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2007
Rolls just don't get better than this! Super easy and delicious. I live in Denver, CO and these even turned out perfect in high altitude without having to adjust the recipe. I used plastic wrap sprayed with cooking spray rather than a towel while rising. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe.

Slow Cooker Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2006
This is a family favorite of ours. I can't even count the number of times that we have fixed it over this past year. I have a 6 quart crockpot so I double the recipe and add more hamburger which makes it a bit thicker. It comes out more like a mexican chili. My teenagers love it! We aren't crazy for onions in our soup/chili but we love the flavor that they give to food. I only use half of what the recipe calls for and chop them very fine in my food processor. I use rotel diced tomatoes with green chilis and a can of diced tomatoes in tomato sauce instead of the tomato sauce, peeled and diced tomotatos and can of diced green chilis. We top our bowls off with fritos and cheese and enjoy! Thank you for sharing such an easy and tasty recipe Janeen!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2005
This is our favorite beef stew recipe. I have made it several times. We like lots of veggies in our stew so I add whole kernel corn, green beans and peas. I also add additional flour to coat the beef which makes the gravy a bit thicker. Just the way we like it. Thank you for sharing.

Peanut Butter Chews

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2004
These were simple and tasted great. We made these for a quick treat. We used Corn Flakes. I was out of waxed paper so I used foil. They lifted right up without any problems. I melted chocolate in a double broiler and then placed in a baggie and cut the tip off to easily drizzle over the chews. Very enjoyable.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2004
We had this for dinner this evening and we all enjoyed it. I didn't have any left over baked potatoes so I just threw several medium sized potatoes in my steamer for 35 minutes. Even my son who isn't a potato eater ate this soup. My daughter usually orders this kind of soup at a local restaurant chain and she loved it! She said that it tasted just like it. Believe me, that is a huge compliment. :) Thank you for sharing just a wonderful recipe.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2004
My family loved this! We made it as a snack but we decided that this could be a quick delicious meal during the week; just add a salad. It was super easy with wonderful results! Another idea that we are going to try is to make cheese garlic bread in this same manner. Thank you for sharing.

Soft, Moist and Gooey Cinnamon Buns

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2004
OMG! These are wonderful! I made them this morning and used the cream cheese icing from another recipe on this site (Clone of a Cinnabon) and they turned out great. My entire family gave them thumbs up and came back for a second one. Using my bread machine made it easy and I can already tell that we will be making these quite often. I did use the entire package of pudding as others had suggested. Perfect!

Amusement Park Cornbread

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2004
I loved this recipe and couldn't stop eating it. My husband prefers the more traditional cornbread and would prefer that I not make this again. That was okay because it left more for me. :-) I also adjusted the cornmeal and flour measurements to equal amounts. Thank you for sharing.

Deep Dish Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2004
I doubled the recipe and baked in a 9x13 pan. I only used 4 eggs and sprinkled mini chocolate chips on the batter before placing in the oven and baking for approximately 35 minutes. My family could barely wait for them to cool and they were delicious. But they were even better the next day. We will be making these often.

New Year's Day Black-Eyed Peas

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
What a way to start out the New Year! I soaked the black-eyed peas overnight and then placed them in my slow cooker. I added a can of rotel tomatoes and green chilis (I placed in food processor with tomatoes before adding to black-eyed peas) along with a few extra spices to add some kick. We absolutely loved these and there weren't any leftovers. Thank you for sharing.

Brown Sugar Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
We made these for New Year's Eve and they were gone in no time. Everyone enjoyed this one. I used toothpicks and made individual ones instead of the skewers. I soaked my toothpicks in water and they came out looking good and tasted great!

Dee's Dark Chocolate Granola

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2011
Wonderful recipe! Thank you for sharing. Only thing I changed was real butter in place of the spread. Super easy and delicious. Mine was perfect after 15 minutes of baking. Baking the chocolate chips and then stirring when taken out of the oven makes wonderful chocolate granola nuggets.

Caramel Snack Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2004
We loved this!! Even though my husband prefers the traditional chex snack mix, I took a chance on something different. We have had our hands in it all day and it is almost gone. Even the kids can't stop eating it. This recipe will be at the top of my food gift recipes. I used Cinnamon Cripix which added a wonderful hint of cinnamon. I also threw in salted peanuts, pecan halves, and waffle shaped pretzels. It was all wonderful. I even made this on a rainy humid day in Texas and it still came out crunchy. We don't like recipes that stick to our teeth. For Christmas next year, I plan on adding red and green M&Ms after it cools to give it some color as well as chocolate to go with this wonderful toffee snack before placing it in glass holiday jars. Thank you for sharing!

These turned out great! Easy, tasty and so tender that they just fell of the bone. I used BBQ sauce instead of ketchup. Thanks for sharing.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I'll never understand why some people have to be so mean... We love this recipe and have been using it for years! We don't change a thing but if you want to reduce the sweetness, just use less sugar. If you are from the south and are used to not having sugar in your cornbread then go find a different recipe. We ARE from the south and still enjoy the sweet cornbread. Thank you dearly for sharing such a loved recipe. The number of high ratings and the sheer standing of this recipe should speak for itself.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2003
Made this for the second time and can't say enough about how wonderful it is. I used a latice crust and mixed half of the sauce with the apples before placing into the crust and poured the remaining sauce over the top after I finished the top crust. I also added 1 tsp. of cinnamon to the sauce and sprinkled a bit on the top. It turned out picture perfect and tasted fabulous! Thank you for sharing!

Dog Treats I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
I am sooo excited that I found this recipe and tried it. One of our dogs is a very picky eater and we have never been able to find any treats in the stores that she likes. I made these and she absolutely loves them and goes nuts for them. We have already gone through a full batch and I'm about to make another. I also got my mom's and my neighbor's dogs addicted to them as well. Not only is it great that I found something that she likes, but it is just added bonus that they are all natural and going to save me lots of money. Thanks a bunch for sharing. These will be made regularly in our house.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2003
Yum! These were delicious and the entire family loved them. I used what I had on hand... half red delicious and half granny smith and added a bit more cinnamon since we love it. I cooked them a little longer since my kids like them tender. We served them over the Good Old Fashioned Pancakes recipe that is also on this site. The combination made a heavenly breakfast. We will definitely be making these on a regular basis and yes, they did remind us of the apples at Boston Market. Thank you for sharing Jenny!
