Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2010
So I made the recipe as is and I give it a 4 only because 1/2 c sugar is too sweet. That being said I love the recipe and will be making it again with a few changes. I understand where youre coming from in terms of the rating, but I have to tell you I appreciate the suggestions.

Best Fried Green Tomatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Well this was my first time making Fried Green Tomatoes and I have to say I was impressed! Well written instructions. I followed the recipe exactly using Italian bread crumbs (what I had on hand) a cast iron skillet for frying. I ate these with a bowl of chilli and enjoyed a nice cold beer! Will definitely makes these again! Ohhh.....and if you haven't seen the movie you should watch it.....FANTASTIC!!!!

Orange Glaze I

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
Not bad. I didn't have Frozen Juice Concentrate on hand so I used 3 TBSP orange juice like others suggested. I also added about a 1/2 tsp almond extract and used the glaze for scones. They turned out great!!! Will definitely make again

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
My first time making scones and all I can say is wow! I didn't use the food-processor method because mine is too small but honestly it's not hard at all to make by hand. I followed the advice fron someone and added 3/4 Craisins (dried cranberries) and 2 TBSP Orange Rind. I also sprinkled the tsp sugar on top like the recipe recommends. I also made a glaze using 1 cup confectioner's sugar, 1 1/2 to 2 TBSPs orange juice and about 1 tsp almond extract. Really good!!!!! Will be using this recipe over and over again to make my own variations.

Vegan Curried Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
ok, as recipe is....I give it a 3. It is WAY too spicy and there wasn't enough water as it dried up before the rice cooked properly. Next time I will add more water, decrease the cumin and soy sauce and add some peas and onions.

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Fantastic and Easy! This cake is moist and chocolately. For those who don't like coffee you can't taste it! I made cupcakes using this recipe and a chocolate icing from this site as well. Turned out great! I will definitely be making this recipe again! Thanks!!!!

Chocolate Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2010
Great icing! I used the Black Magic cake recipe for cupcakes and topped them with this icing. It was fantastic! The icing does set quickly so I do think it is more appropriate for things like cupcakes or donuts....but I loved the taste and it was so easy! I wouldn't change a thing!

The Best Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
I Give this Recipe 4 1/2 stars. I loved the taste but as others have suggested the consistency is a little thick. I used a container of Philadalphia Whipped Cream Cheese (cut recipe back to serve 4) but next time I think I'll use half the cream cheese and half light sour cream. Or maybe add milk...I still have to tweak a bit. I used red potatoes and left the peel on. I also added a turnip to the mix and I loved that! I would cut back on the garlic a bit too.....was a little overpowering. Great base recipe though! Thanks!!!!

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
I cut the recipe in half and only used cheddar cheese because I didn't have Monteray Jack on hand. Next time I think I will use both cheeses, add extra salsa and mix the rice with the salsa mixture before layering and add cheese on top like others suggested. I also added a dollop of sour cream per serving.

Clove Apple Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This recipe was great! I would bring the sugar/flour/milk mixture to a SLOW boil on low heat, as it's easy to burn the milk, you really have to keep an eye on it. The family loved this one!!!

Baked Ziti I

This recipe was great! I didn't have ziti on hand so I used rigatoni instead. I think I will follow others' advice and rearrange the layers. Other than that, wouldn't change a thing! Thanks!

this recipe was alright, however I found it a little bland. Next time I make this I will add some spices such as oregano. I think I'll add some onion and mushrooms too!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: May 28, 2006
WOW!!!!! This recipe was AMAZING! I made these cookies for a housewarming party and they were gone in under 10 minutes!!! I used less chocolate chips (didn't have enough for recipe), and used one cup of walnuts in half the batter. Would DEFINITELY make this again! Thanks for the posting!!!

Cinnamon Bread I

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
EXCELLENT RECIPE! Think it's my new favourite! The cinnamon/sugar crumble topping is undeniably the best part. The crumble effect didn't work out for me too well though (probably cut into it too much). The bread was moist and soft. I didn't have any buttermilk on hand so I used a TBSP of vinegar and a little less than a cup of milk. There was a lighter taste of cinnamon. I think I'll double the topping next time and add a little more cinnamon just to give it a little more flavour (personal preference). MY FAMILY LOVED IT!!! Probably won't last long in this house! DEFINITELY A KEEPER!!!

Sugar-Coated Muffins

Reviewed: May 17, 2006
These muffins were ok. Texture was WAY too thick for me. Seemed to improve the next day. I like a muffin that is light and airy. However I absolutely LOVED the cinnamon sugar glaze on top. I probably won't make this recipe again, but will try the sugar glaze with other muffin recipes.

These muffins were pretty good. I just found the texture to be a little too cakey for my taste. My family loved them though!! I added a little more than 1cup of chocolate chips. Will try this recipe again, perhaps a different version

Stuffed Strawberries

Reviewed: May 11, 2006
This recipe is so easy to make and tastes GREAT! I made this for my sister's Wedding shower and everyone absolutely loved them. What I love about it is they're so easy to make. Just be careful not to beat the cream cheese mixture too much (just until uniform) because when piping it will not keep its shape. Next time I think I'll add a little more Cointreau to give it more flavour. This recipe is absolutely wonderful!!! Thanks IMVINTAGE!!!
