Bake Sale Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
Too sweet for 5 stars, reduce sugar in egg mixture to no more than 1 cup. I add a little more lemon too. Very good crust.

Cat's Famous Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
added 1/2 green pepper, 1 stalk celery, used less carrots. Also used a bit of cayenne instead of paprika and did not have pineapple so I used a couple Tblsp of apple cider vinegar. Yummy and healthy!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
This recipe is great, I've made them twice in a week. I did make some changes to make them slightly healthier; I cut the white sugar by 50% and the brown sugar I cut by 25% and used spelt flour rather than white flour. I also added dried cherries and chopped walnuts. I thought they were plenty sweet without as much sugar and the spelt flour added some fiber while still keeping a great soft cookie consistency. My husband and I loved them and I took some to work and 2 women asked me for the recipe.

Gingersnap Pear Tart

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
This is a really good recipe. I made a few changes. I do not have a tart pan so I used a regular 9 inch pie pan. I increased the cookies to 1 1/2 cups and the butter to 3 Tbsp for the crust. I also reduced the amount of sugar I used on the pears.

White Fish Provencal

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
Great easy recipe. I try not to use anything out of a can so I use fresh tomatoes and simmer a little longer than recipe calls for. I've made this several times and my husband loves it.

Great recipe. I added 1 teaspoon of rosemary the second time I made it and liked it better. Great winter warm up recipe.

Browned Butter Vegetables with Almonds

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
Yummy recipe. I've made it twice reducing the butter on the second time and it was still great with 3/4 of the amount of butter. I steamed the veggies for just a couple of minutes beforehand both times.

Cindy's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2006
I've been making this pie for years and just now I am getting around to reviewing it. It's fantastic. It may just be my oven but I do have to leave it in for about 5 additional minutes before reducing the temp. I get requests every year now for this pie and I have printed off this recipe for friends a lot of times.
