Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2004
WOW! I have NEVER cooked asparagus before this, thought I didn't like it. But I am in an organic produce co-op and we got fresh asparagus so I thought I would try this. It was GREAT! I used mozerella cheese, it don't care for swiss and omitted the nutmeg, none on hand. I thought about doing it 'crustless' but I had a frozen pie crust in the freezer and prebaked it while cooking the bacon and asparagus. My husband and my picky 3 year old ate it too! Can't wait to make this for a brunch or something.

Uncooked Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2004
WOW! This was great! I wanted to make banana pudding and bought the vanilla pudding mix and vanilla wafers, and I had bananas on hand. I didn't realize however that most other recipes call for sweetened condensed milk. So I was glad to find this recipe and had all I needed to make it. It was great and will serve it for a party this weekend!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2004
This is the only way I will make meat loaf ever again! My family can't get enough. I even ate the left overs, which I NEVER do! I did take the advise of some others and put the brown sugar mixture on top. I also put my meatloaf on a broil pan so that all of the juices fell to the bottom and my meatloaf didn't soak up all of the grease. I will be making this again for sure!

Ali's Amazing Bruschetta

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2004
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this! It was GREAT! I took it to a friends house for dinner and it was gone. Even my 3 year old, that doesn't care for tomatoes like it. I did add the garlic and toasted the bread but I also used dried Italian seasonings in place of basil and orgeano (that was what I had on hand) but I did use fresh parsley and toasted the bread first! Can't wait to make this one again!!!!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2004
With all of the great ratings and reviews this recipe got I was very surprised at how it turned out. My hasband and I were both disappointed. It was just ok and VERY MUSTARD-Y. I scaled the recipe back to four servings and it was a good thing or we would have had way too many leftovers. I did however take the 2 breasts that were left over and cubed them with some of the 'sauce' and some mayo. We will try that out as a chicken salad sandwich. I don't know maybe I did soemthing wrong but we didn't care for it too much.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2004
These were great. My mom always made wonderful busicuits, but I never learned before moving out. This was my first real attempt at making them and it was great. I used All purpose flour and omitted the salt and baking powder and used butter for the shortening, thats all I had on hand. They weren't HUGE, but I think I rolled the dough too thin. All in all, they were really good, will be adding to my recipe box for many more uses!! Thanks for this recipe.

Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
This was ok. Good flavor, but mine was really thin, maybe my pan was bigger than 9x13. I added onion, as suggested by others and regular yellow mustard, since I didn't have any ground mustard. I might make it again, but not too often, it wasn't as big of a hit as I expected. I would also try bread stuffing or something as suggested for more flavor.

Hashbrown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
This recipe was very good! I used cream of mushroom soup, as others had advised. I forgot to add the onion. And I also tried to cook in my Pampered Chef deep-dish baker. It turned out a little too creamy for my taste. I think next time I make it I will put it in a larger pan so some of the soup cooks out. I made it while my parents were visiting and it was the ONLY thing that I made that they ate ALL of!! It didn't last long. My husband and two year old also loved it! We will surely make this again!

Buttermilk Seed Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2003
This recipe was Wonderful. I only used sunflower seeds (about 8 TBS) cause that was all I had. And I used 1 percent milk and vinegar (for the buttermilk) as I always do since I always have those two items on hand. I took one loaf out of the oven and put it right into the frezer so it could cool and we could have it for dinner. My husband and two year old also loved it. I will definately make it again, next time will use the diffrent seeds. Thanks so mcuh for this GREAT recipe!

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2003
This was great. I changed it up a little. I used the suggestions of others and mixed a can of cream of celery and sour cream. I spread some of that mixture on the pounded chicken breasts and then but my ham and cheese. I had a lot of that mixture left and no cheese left so I covered my rolled chicken in the soup mix and then bread crumbs. It was wonderful. It made a great sauce for the chicken and rice I served it with. This is a definate keeper!!! Thanks so much!!

Wisconsin Bratwurst

Mock Champagne

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2003
I thought this was a great and easy punch and it made a lot. We ended up with leftovers because we had a small crowd. My husband and I froze half of a 2L of Ginger Ale in ice cube trays and the other half we left in the bottle and froze. Then we cut the bottle away and floated that in the punch. It didn't look as pretty as ring might of, but our round (fluted) cake pan is two parts and we figured the ginger ale would run out. After the frozen giger ale thawed, it turned the punch slushy and made it even better. I will definatley make this again!!

The Best Marinade Around

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2002
Great recipe!! Thanks! I have used it on tougher cuts of meat and they were great. I will probably never make steaks without this marinade again!! I wanted to add to my review...we almost ALWAYS use this for pork chops and call it "fake steak" it is MUCH cheaper to do than steaks all of the time. We LOVE it!!

Slow Cooker Tipsy Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2002
Easy recipe, but not what I expected. Not quite sure what I expected but this wasn't it. I think I thought it would be creamer, it was soupy. I might make it again, but not often.
