Johnny Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
AWESOME!! I baked it for 30 minutes and it was great, not dry. I grew up with this Johnny Cake too. But, my Mom always used the recipe that was on the bag. I must say that the recipe on the bag is much drier and crumblier than this recipe. This recipe is so moist! My sister even agreed that this recipe is better than the one we grew up with! Thanks for the recipe:)

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
I'd rate as 4.5 out of 5. Just added more baking soda and omitted salt as others suggested since my butter is salted. Baked at 325 for 12 minutes. They rose nicely, didn't run, chewy, perfect! I omitted nuts for friends with allergies. Overall, a keeper! Awesome.

Chocolate Raspberry Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2012
Nice recipe. I pretty much followed it exactly and it was a perfect batter. Outside was crunchy, inside was cake like. Baked them for 13 minutes (always on parchment). I used at least 1 cup of pureed raspberries, they were thawing while I was working on the recipe. So, by the time I pureed them, it turned out like raspberry gelato and when I added the chocolate (which was still a bit warm), it created little chunks and slivers of chocolate. Awesome! You can hopefully see this in the close up photo that I added. I did not add the white chips (didn't have any). Thanks for the recipe, raspberries and chocolate make a great combination! One negative is all of the raspberry seeds for denture wearers or my one toddler who was having 'problems' with the seeds. They did even bug me a bit. Ha Ha.

Apple Pie Muffins

EXCELLENT! My first bite was like a slice of apple pie:) Followed recipe as is except I didn't pack the brown sugar. Tasted great right out of the oven. Definitely a keeper in my special recipe book.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2011
LOVE THESE! I've made them 4 times. Tender like cake. My kids love 'em, even without the chocolate chips! Also, just as good with 3/4 c. sugar instead of 1 c. Thanks for the recipe :)

Tangy Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Loved it! Made as is, marinated for 4hrs. However, being Winter, I simply cooked it in the oven. Tender and tasty:)

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
Awesome tasting and tender! It's a keeper recipe that I'll be doing again. I ran out of ginger from making gingerbread at Christmas so instead I added some garlic and a bit of pumpkin seasoning. Delicious! However, when I get my ginger, I plan on making it again with that instead so I can try the original recipe.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
Awesome chili! I also modified the recipe. I didn't think I had chili powder so added some sweet chili paste; then found my chili powder so added only 1 1/2 tbsp of chili powder. I used less red pepper flakes, and used a combination of tomatoes, tomato soup and also added some water. I then added about 2 tbsp of cornstarch to thicken it up. I served it with grated cheddar and a dollop of sourcream on top. I will definitely make this one again.
