Easiest Pot Roast Ever

Very easy but standard fair. Adding garlic and red wine as suggested by other reviewers is definitely recommended. I also added a few splashes of low sodium soy sauce which enhances the color as well as flavor.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This is a truly classic corn bread recipe. It carries the right balance between dense and fluffy and it's so tasty you'll find yourself going back for more, like it's dessert. I cut back on the sugar to half a cup, just personal preference. I also doubled up on the ingredients, still using an 8x8 pan and adding 15-20 minutes to the baking time and the rise was perfect.

Dumplings

Neat Sloppy Joes

Added red bell peppers which added natural sweetness so will probably alleviate the sugar next time. Still sloppy but tasty.

Sweet Corn Tomalito

German Apple Cake I

Substituted the 1 cup oil with half cup oil and half cup apple sauce, and reduced the sugar by a half cup. Cake is moist and fluffy.

World's Best Lasagna

I used ground turkey and left out the fennel seeds, otherwise followed the recipe. Very good lasagna, called for second helpings.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

I took a risk and made several loaves and handed them out to family and friends for the holidays, without a preliminary run in advance. Luckily, it was a big hit. This is a solid recipe for a wonderful pumpkin spice cake. Definitely a staple for me now.

Coconut Cream Pound Cake

On the dry side but dense and moist on the inside. The sweetened coconut flakes add a punch of "sugary" sweetness. Doesn't seem worth all the fat and calories.
