Playgroup Granola Bars

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
These seem to me more like cookie bars than granola bars, but the flavor is awesome. My tweaks: I cut the honey by half and used biscoff (like peanut butter) spread for the other half. I used peanut butter chips instead of raisins, almond meal instead of wheat germ, and 2 scoops of protein shake mix to pump up the protein. Also, I made these with my stand mixer instead of mixing by hand, and it was super easy. they were oven ready before the oven had even preheated.

Kielbasa Hash With Carrots and Caraway

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2010
This was an awesome hash, but after making the sauce and tasting it, we decided not to add it. The only thing I added was a little ground pepper. Even my kids loved it.

Cola Pot Roast II

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
Super! I cooked mine in the crock pot after searing it, and it came out beautifully. Tender, and the sauce was great. The only change I would make would be to add salt and pepper. I didn't add any until we were at the table, but it gave it the zing it needed. I also ended up adding cornstarch to the sauce/gravy to thicken it a bit. I served it with rice when we were entertaining guests, and everyone loved it.

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2005
This has been a favorite in our family for years! I did find a way to cheat and get a similar flavor easier - i use canned spaghetti sauce with mushroom and green pepper (Ragu is our fave), and I mix the cream of mushroom soup in with the beef/sauce mixture. Mix the cooked spaghetti in, and layer spaghetti, cheese, spaghetti cheese. That's just for nights when I'm in a hurry - otherwise, I'd follow the recipe for 'the real McCoy'. Every time I've served this it's gotten rave reviews.

South Seas Curried Beef over Jasmine Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
Hubby loved it, but I would have liked it better with some julienned onions and peppers. I'll try this next time. The taste was great though.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Hubby loved it, i thought it was ho-hum. The flavor was good, it just seemed like it was missing something.

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2005
Like other reviewers, I added a can of cream of chicken soup and a bit more milk. I also used a whole chicken, cut up and skinned, and added a couple potatoes and carrots, cubed. This is going on our family's favorite list. Great flavor, and super tender. Ended up a bit soupy, so we had some crusty bread with it... Great meal!

The Amazing Swedish Meatball

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2005
I added a can of cream of mushroom soup and about half a tsp of garlic powder to the sauce. It was still a bit too salty for us. Great flavor though. This is a keeper.

Pork Butt Roast with Vegetables

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2004
After 4 hours of cooking, my 7 lb roast was overdone. I'll try it again and this time monitor the temperature more closely. But the flavor was great, and even overcooked it was still juicy.

Pumpkin Bread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2004
This is great! I didn't have any cloves, and i added a few drops of vanilla and a pinch of ginger. I made 2 loaves and some mini-muffins. Turned out lovely! Only problem - it wasn't as moist as I like.

Pork Chops with Raspberry Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2003
This was great! The whole family loved it, and it's become our biggest guest pleaser. I actually use a tenderloin sliced into medallions, and marinate it in the spices with crushed garlic for a couple hours before cooking. It's quick and easy, but looks and tastes impressive.
