Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
I made this for my friend who loves Indian food and her Indian American husband. They both love it! Try to shop for the ingredients at an Indian grocery store if there is one near you. The Indian curry powder, coconut milk, and basmati rice are essentials. You can skip the mango chutney.

Campbell's® Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2011
It turned out well, but it was watery. Maybe I added too much soup. Anyone tried this recipe with soy milk? I didn't have milk so I used soy milk. I wonder if that's what made it watery...

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2011
This was a great recipe. Although a bit fattening with the butter, it was so delicious! My housemates enjoyed it.

Easy Gravy

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
The gravy didn't turn out that great. Do I have to use the Argo Corn Starch or is other kinds of corn starch fine too? Don't know if that made a difference.

Brilliant Sauteed Broccoli

Reviewed: May 12, 2011
I really liked the first two steps to boil the broccoli, soak it in cold water, and then dry it before sauteeing. It helps the broccoli retain its crunchiness. However, I didn't like the red pepper flakes with it, because it turned out too spicy. I don't know if it's because I added red chili flakes instead. The combo of red pepper (chili) flakes and Parmesan cheese didn't taste delish, but the brown sugar was good.

Easy Indian-Style Chicken

Reviewed: May 16, 2011
A great recipe but not enough spice. Didn't taste salty & spicy enough, so I had to add curry powder. Not sure if it's because I didn't use the hot chili paste...

Baingan Bharta (Eggplant Curry)

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
I tripled this recipe so it will be enough for 12 servings. My friends really liked it and thinks it is really authentic! I left out the tomato since one of my friends don't eat tomatoes. It still tastes really good without the tomato. Get some naan from the store! It tastes really delicious with naan.

Artichoke Bruschetta

My housemates and I made this for a potluck. Great appetizer but cheese is too pricey.

Chicken Encilantrada

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
Very delicious and easy to cook recipe! It's not too spicy, cause you can pick the spiciness level when you buy the can of green salsa. I picked medium spice.

Nadine's Delicious Tilapia

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
A good and easy recipe! The tilapia doesn't have much flavor, so dip it longer in the soy sauce.

American Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
It tastes good using only 1 cup of mayo with 4 pounds of potatoes. 2 cups seem too fattening. Also, as a warning red potatoes are expensive. This is not a budget friendly potato salad recipe.

Super Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2011
This is a good soup, but I agree with the comments about how you need to add chicken broth and cream of chicken to make it more flavorful. A great soup for a sick friend or just to eat on a cold day.

General Tsao's Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2011
I think it tastes delicious even though I only deep fry once. It is just too much oil and sugar. Very delicious though so I will cook this once in a while. At least cooking it myself is healthier than Panda Express. Hahaha. All of my housemates really enjoyed it, so it's definitely a keeper. I recommend doubling the serving size to 12 if you're going to serve 6, because only chicken, broccoli, and rice is not enough. It tastes so good that people want seconds!

Braised Tofu

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
It didn't turn out that great. I don't know if it's because I used frozen peas instead of snow peas, since I can't find any at Safeway. It was too watery and the tofu just taste like any regular tofu.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
I made it the cookie version instead by using Trader Joe's mini peanut butter cups. Great recipe! It was harder to make it all pretty looking as a cookie though.
