No Knead Beer Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
Only giving it four stars bc mine came out flat. The texture and flavor were great, though. I followed the recipe but obviously didn't do something right. This was my first attempt at bread. What did I do wrong?

Perfect Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
This really is 'perfect." I have made it twice now and it has come out great both times. I omitted the chili paste the first time because I didn't have any. The second time around I added a few drops of hot sriracha chili sauce and teaspoon of catsup. The results were excellent.

I made these for Easter this year and even the kids couldn't get enough of them! Great flavor, easy to make, just the right texture. These will be a staple in my house.

This came out great. Made it for a boneless rib-eye roast. I could eat it by itself!

I made these for my family. They were a little too sweet. Will not make again.

I love these! My husband makes them all of the time now. They are moist and flavorful as well as easy to make. If you have company, these are a great, easy way to make your guests feel like you went out of your way for them. Yum!

Sushi Roll

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
We made these for a New Year's Eve party with a family who was gluten-free. They couldn't believe how easy these were to make and how tasty. I found out later that soy sauce has gluten in it, however, but everyone at the party loved these. They were the first things to go.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
I really loved this, and my picky kids liked it. The only change I would make is that next time I will add some instant mashed potatoes to thicken it. Also, I didn't measure the thyme (my fault) so the thyme flavor was a little strong. Overall, a great recipe that I will use again this week.

Peanut Noodles

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
I really liked this, but the sesame oil was overpowering. I will reduce that by half next time, maybe substitute some canola oil. I ended up adding some brown sugar after it was cooked to make it more palatable to my kids. They really liked it.

Sesame Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
We really liked this. I did use the stir-fry beef as some reviewers suggested. It came out very tender. I also doubled the marinade and used some to stir-fry the veggies. I cooked the beef first and then removed it to a bowl, then cooked the veggies and added the hot veggies to the bowl with the beef. This warmed the beef but didn't overcook it. My picky kids liked it.

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
OMG! Everyone I have made it for loves it. Just made it again on this snowy morning. Did as others suggested and cut the almond extract down to 1/4 tsp and made up the rest with 3/4 tsp vanilla. I can't count how many times I have given out the recipe!

Grilled Marinated Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
Just made this tonight. I marinated shrimp and chicken thighs together. The chicken thighs were a winner but the shrimp, according to my sensitive children, were bland. Maybe because I used farm raised shrimp from Thailand and only marinated them for one hour? Maybe because I omitted the salt and half the hot pepper sauce. They seemed salty enough. They actually tasted like they had some kind of preservative in them. Next time, I will marinate them longer, but I will include a lot more chicken thighs.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2010
I just made this pie at Thanksgiving and it is the talk of my foodie family. So easy and so tasty. I made a bunch as Christmas gifts this year and got rave reviews! I used 4 granny smith apples and 2 honey crisp apples. I tossed them with flour and cinnamon before putting them in the crust. I didn't do the lattice top but poured the mixture over the apples and topped with another crust, as other reviewers have done.
