Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
Delicious and simple to make... I split the dough into three. Made one with mini-chocolate chips, one with frozen blueberries and lemon zest, and one with dried cranberries and orange zest. I formed each third into a long rectangle and cut triangles out of that, making about 30 mini-scones. They do rise a lot so they will be huge if you only get 12 pieces out of the dough!

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
This was okay...very watery like many people have mentioned, and I only added one cup of water. I felt like it was missing something, but it was definitely spicy. I will probably try a different recipe next time.

Pineapple Chicken Tenders

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2009
Very easy and simple.. next time I will save some marinade to boil down and use as sauce since some of the chicken seemed a little dry from grilling, but otherwise great flavor!

Layered Dulce de Leche Dessert

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
Made this tonight and it was super simple but good. I used more than 12 wafers for each layer, probably close to around 15 or so, making sure there was a wafer covering the whole surface. I also used the can dulce de leche and ended up having to kind of spread it on the wafers. Overall a good and tasty cool treat

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
So delicious and simple to make. I only used about 1 T sugar in the salsa and it was just sweet enough. For the chips, I just sprayed both sides of the tortilla, used a pizza cutter to cut into slices and placed in a ziploc bag to shake and coat with the cinnamon/sugar. So simple to make! Next time I might only coat one side of the tortilla with sugar because I found the chips to be a little too sweet

Cinnamon Griddle Cakes

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
These were fluffy and delicious. The only thing I did differently was substitute 1/2 cup whole wheat flour for white and I left out the corn syrup. I only made half the icing and it was still plenty. Will be making this again!

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
So easy and delicious! I sauteed the chicken in the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes and added in some sliced mushrooms. Then I tossed in some baby spinach when I mixed everything together. I used the Cibo pesto from Costco, delicious!

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I loved this recipe!! I especially love the combination of italian sausage and ground beef together. NExt time I will probably mix the meat and sauce together with the cheeses instead of layering it in the dish. Otherwise I will definitely be making this again!

I like that this recipe uses ingredients that I always have on hand. However there was nothing special about them and will try a different recipe next time

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
These were very good and moist. I substituted 1/2 C whole wheat flour for white, added in about 1/2 C more blueberries and less sugar. However, I feel that a good muffin recipe should not require additional sugar or topping to make it good. I will keep this but try a different recipe next time

Made these tonight and they were so easy and amazing! I made them about 4 hours in advance and left out for about 45 minutes before baking. Served with vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries and blackberries on the side and some powdered sugar on top. Look and tasted so fancy!!

Brunch Strata

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
I used a ton of veggies and used broccoli instead of the meat for a hearty vegetarian dish. People liked it but I don't think they loved it... no one asked for the recipe so I'm not sure I will make it again. But it was definitely moist and hearty

This was SO good!! The presentation is absolutely beautiful, everyone thought that I had bought the cake. It seems more time consuming than it actually is, but is well worth the effort!
