Chinese Fried Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2013
Great base recipe, thanks! My young son even told me I should work at Panda Express, LOL. (It was a complement.) We are a family of 4. I knew 2 packets wouldn't be enough. I wonder if that is a typo? I made 6 packets of noodles! It made 5 generous servings. Another thing I did different was cook about a half pound of pork, thinly sliced, in garlic and onion. I think any meat would be good. I also forgot to use the seasoning packets, but it was delicious without them! Definitely will make again.

The Most Easy and Delish Meatloaf EVER!

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
This is the best meatloaf recipe that I have come across and I've experimented with many different recipes. This is how I will make mine from now on.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2012
What a great recipe! This is definitely a keeper! I followed the directions pretty much exactly - only adding extra potatoes and a couple of carrots. For the ham, just go to your supermarket deli and get 1 or 2 thick slices, quick and easy. (I got 2 slices, but I think next time I may only get 1.)

Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
Very easy to make and tasted good. I followed the recipe exactly since I haven't made peach cobbler in years. For some reason, mine took about an hour to cook! My oven usually cooks fast, so I'm not sure why. Still came out good though.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
We are a family of 4 with 2 sons and everyone cleaned their plates. I boiled and shredded the chicken the night before. The next day I dumped it into my baking dish and seasoned it with various spices such as garlic salt, paprika, pepper, and salt. The only other differences in what I did was (as another reviewer suggested), add one can of cream of mushroom AND cream of chicken. I didn't have stuffing mix, so I just sprinkled Italian bread crumbs on top. Oh, and I used only 3 breasts instead of 4 and it was plenty and I used frozen broccoli so no precooking was necessary. This was a great base recipe!

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2012
Delicious! I made it as written - except I used Ritz crackers instead of chips (because that's what I had) and I added milk to the mixture (and it would have been too dry if I hadn't). The only thing different I would do next time is saute the onions a little because we prefer them softer rather than crunchy. Thank you for the recipe. We really liked it!

I've never heard of albondigas soup, but it sounded good and it was! Very easy to make as well.

Chicken In Basil Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2011
The dish itself was just ok to me, but what I took from the recipe was a great new sauce, which was delicious. I caught my son actually licking his plate!

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2011
I'm a decent cook, but my glaze was too watery and the flavor of the "sauce" was not appealing. I won't make this again. Not sure I understand all the great reviews.

Stuffed Eggplant with Shrimp and Basil

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
Excellent recipe! I took the advice of others and added twice as much shrimp and half the bread crumbs and it was delicious! It's a keeper!

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2011
Delicious! I didn't use the olive oil. First cooked the bacon (about 7 or 8 pieces), then set the grease aside and used as needed. I sauteed onion, garlic and mushrooms, then added the spinach, then the tomatoes & feta cheese, which gave it a nice touch. Definitely a keeper!

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
This was a great base recipe. I've never made chicken pot pie and it turned out great! I first cooked the chicken in onion and garlic and used all fresh vegetables, except the canned peas. I also used 1 can of cream of chicken and 1 can of cream of mushroom. My family loved it!

Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
Pleasantly surprised. I've never had canned salmon before and was a little nervous when I first opened the can, but I fixed it according to the recipe - plus one egg and some extra spices - and it turned out really good! No problems with it sticking, you just have to be gentle.

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2011
Good kid-friendly dish. I sauteed the garlic and bell pepper first and added fresh mushrooms. I knew it would be somewhat bland so I also added some cayene pepper.

Very good! This was a big hit for my family, will make again. All got eaten up, even the excess cheese that got crispy in the pan!

Kielbasa with Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2011
Decent, simple dish. I only used one can of tomatoes, which suited my family better. Oddly enough, it reminded me of a dish that a Chinese coworker brought to a potluck, only her sausage was cut into thin slivers rather than slices.

Spicy Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Delicious! My husband said it was the "best salmon flavor ever." I only substituted cayene/red pepper powder because I didn't have a dried chile pepper and I added more of everything (garlic, lime juice, etc.) I will definitely make this again!

Yellow Squash Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
We are big squash lovers, but I was disappointed in this recipe. I agree with another reviewer that it was quite bland. It's a good base for a recipe, but I would add more spices for sure and maybe 1 cup more of squash.
