Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2012
Oh. My. DELICIOUS!!! Another reviewer said she couldn't understand why she ever bought jarred applesauce from the store and I am thinking the exact same thing. I went apple picking and came back with more than I knew what to do with so I decided to try this recipe. I finished my first batch about an hour ago. I smelled it through the house first- amazing. Than I tasted it- unbelievable! I shoved my used saucepan in the sink, pulled out a bigger one and my next (doubled) batch is on the stove right now. I made mine with Courtland apples and followed the recipe to a T. Wonderful recipe! This will be a staple every autumn, and a treat year round! Thanks!

I made this for Christmas and it was a huuuggeee hit. It is so moist and chocolatey. Make sure you have plenty of milk on hand. Great, great recipe!

Stuffed Shells III

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
I can't believe I didn't review these yet! I've made them multiple times and they are delicious. I took a tip from another reviewer and put the filling in a Ziplock back and squeezed the filling through it. (Thanks for the idea!) I have some in my fridge right now. I think I'll go get some more... :)

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This was delicious! The first pie I have ever made. I used a different apple just because they were on sale and still magical. Crispy yet perfectly gooey inside and tastes perfect next to some vanilla bean ice cream. Yum!

Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
These were ok. I have to admit, I don't usually eat pork chops, so maybe it was just me being 'not used to' the taste. The dip was pretty good, although it was very strong. An OK recipe. I probably won't make it again.

Classic American-Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
DE-LICIOUS. I have never made a potato salad with eggs and red wine vinegar. Or scallions for that matter. I used to make it very basic, but ALAS! This is fantastic. I went a little heavy on the red wine vinegar, but otherwise it is heavenly. I also chopped my potatoes up a bit smaller since I don't like big chunks. I will make it again and again and plan on toting it to a BBQ ASAP.

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2011
I ate this meatloaf for meals in a row (lunch AND dinner) it was so good. I made my own glaze for the top, ketchup, A1 and sugar and it was great. This is definitely a keeper in the recipe box. The leftovers are just as good. Best meatloaf I've ever eaten.

Mom's Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This meatloaf was DELICIOUS. I followed the recipe for the meatloaf itself to a 'T' but I added a glaze of ketchup, A1 and a bit of sugar to the top at the 45 minute mark. It may be just because I'm used to ketchup with meatloaf as that's how I ate it when I was a kid. Anyway, it was PACKED with flavor and I couldn't imagine needing the ranch dressing. Thankfully for me there are leftovers so I can have some more today. :) I would definitely recommend this simple, fantastic recipe.

Best Strawberry Daiquiri

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
I'm giving this less than 5 stars, because I'm mildy and don't think I made it right. I 'eye-balled' the ice (how do you measure ice anyway?) and felt there was much too much ice. I also cracked my blender and half the ingredients came out and I re-did it. And my blender really sucks and is old. But despite all that, my frosty concoction turned out pretty good! It could use more strawberry taste, but if I didn't put in so much ice... :)

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2011
This dish was absolutely fantastic. The only things I 'modified' was I left out the mushrooms (for my hubby) and dumped the rest of the flour from covering the chicken breasts into the skillet to thicken the sauce. I can't believe it was so easy and simple yet tasted so good. I used $1.50 cooking wines and it was still wonderful. This will become a staple for week night meals.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Great chicken recipe! I used Italian bread crumbs and since I didn't realize I didn't have dried oregano, I just decided to use some MORE Italian seasoning. :) Turned out great! Boyfriend loved it and it will definitely be making a prime spot in my cook book.

Pumpkin Roll I

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
I made this to bring to Thanksgiving as a dessert and I think my grandma and grandpa ate the whole thing and took the rest home. :) I liked it a lot. I had to bake it quite a bit longer (5 minutes) than instructed because it wasn't enough for my first try. And, be sure not to use any cloth that even resembles terry cloth. Again, my second try turned out better. The creamy filling is the best part. The confectioners sugar gives the perfect sweetness. Great recipe! I will save it for another event.
