Pumpkin Apple Streusel Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
These were good, but way too sweet. I think you could cut the sugar to 1 - 1 1/2 cups and still be plenty sweet, especially with the streusal topping. Will make again, but with less sugar.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Awesome. I've made exactly as recipe states, and also tried w/ buttermilk and half butter/half shortening. YUM! These are my "go to" recipe for biscuits now. Perfect texture, not too dry, great flavor.

Paula's Bread Sticks

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
Absolutely wonderful! I made the dough using a bread machine. I love that once the bread machine is finished, the breadsticks go right into the oven--no waiting for another rise. Whole family devoured these! After they baked, I brushed w/ melted butter and sprinkled w/ parm. cheese. YUM!

Mandarin Beef Stir-Fry

I used this recipe mainly for the sauce, as I altered the veggie choices. But it was so yummy! Will definitely make again.

Blue Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
So good! I used frozen blueberries and they worked just fine. I also increased the sugar to 3/4 c, as other reviewers indicated it needed to be sweeter. It was definitely sweet enough!

Sure, it's sticky to roll into balls, but powdered sugar on your hands help that. I froze the balls for 2+ hours and had no problem dipping in chocolate. These are delicious, rich, and so easy. This recipe does make quite a few and I recommend making small sized balls, as it is so rich.

Marie Edwards Cookies

These are really yummy and quick to make. To make them a little healthier, I used 1 cup of whole wheat flour and 1 cup all purpose flour. I was not able to spread the batter across the entire 15x7 jelly roll pan, and will use a smaller pan next time. Spreading the mixture is tricky--spraying your fingers w/ PAM helps move it around.

Mini Sour Cream Biscuits

Very easy. The sour cream adds a bit of zing which is nice when you don't want an ordinary bisquick biscuit.

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
I used boneless skinless thighs, and 1/4c butter. It smelled great. The flavor was good, not great. The butter overwhelmed the chicken. But I would try again, reducing the butter a bit more.

Raspberry Blackberry Smoothie

I followed the recipe exactly. It was very tasty and easy to make. However, you need to strain it before drinking, as the blackberry seeds are impossible to ignore. Next time I'll substitute something else for the blackberries.

Perfect icing to decorate over. It hardens nicely but not too hard that it becomes crunchy. Will definitely use again.

Blueberry Scones

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2009
I agree with other reviewers--these do not have a traditional scone texture. However, they were really good. I did as other reviewers did and dropped these on the cookie sheet instead of shaping into wedges. Also substitued 1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream + 1/4 cup skim milk for the half and half.

No Sour Cream Beef Stroganoff

The ground beef created a dish just like Hamburger Helper, which is not a favorite of mine. It also was visually unappealing. If I try again, I will use sirloin strips.

Delicious and rich! I followed the recipe as is, but substitued low fat/fat free for most of the ingredients. It still tasted great. Can't imagine how decadent it would be with the real thing!

Tarragon Chicken Salad II

Very good recipe. I used Rotisserie chicken, left out the parsley and substitued grapes for raisins. Quite tasty. I also reduced mayo amount by approx half, as I prefer a 'drier' salad. Definitely will make again!
