About this Cook
I'm the grandma of a 5 year old boy and a little girl is on the way. I am currently caring for my husband is now a paraplegic after falling and hitting his head on the stone counter tops. Being at home more I now have time to cook and experiment a little more....so I'll be using this site a lot more.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are desserts and Asian cuisine. I love trying new things and will try just about anything at least once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner. What more is there to say....
My cooking triumphs
Still to be determined, but I want to make a chocolate soufflé.
My cooking tragedies
I made a carrot cake that taste like I'd added saw dust to the batter. My husband tried to be polite, but the look on his face was priceless and told the whole story without saying a word. It was the first time I'd ever thrown away an entire cake...less one piece.

Slippery Shrimp
This was pretty darn close to Yang Chow's. I like a lot of sauce so next time I'll double it, but other than that this was fantastic. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Grilled Salmon I
I made this recipe as is for my husband and myself Sunday for dinner. I am not a salmon eater. I've never been able to make it taste good, therefore I've never really liked it, but this recipe made it palatable for me. My husband LOVED it. This is definitely a keeper and I'll be making it again.

Grandmother's Pound Cake II
Holy moly this is a good cake. I made it today for my husband's birthday. He wanted a "real" pound cake and I must say that this recipe delivered. So delicious. I added 2 teaspoons of vanilla and next time I'll add lemon flavoring and zest.....soooo good. Taste like what mama used to make.
