About this Cook
I'm the grandma of a 5 year old boy and a little girl is on the way. I am currently caring for my husband is now a paraplegic after falling and hitting his head on the stone counter tops. Being at home more I now have time to cook and experiment a little I'll be using this site a lot more.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are desserts and Asian cuisine. I love trying new things and will try just about anything at least once.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving dinner. What more is there to say....
My cooking triumphs
Still to be determined, but I want to make a chocolate soufflé.
My cooking tragedies
I made a carrot cake that taste like I'd added saw dust to the batter. My husband tried to be polite, but the look on his face was priceless and told the whole story without saying a word. It was the first time I'd ever thrown away an entire cake...less one piece.

Pan-Fried Asparagus
This was really good. I had no idea how to prepare asparagus, but now I'll buy it more often. Yummers...

Perfectly Roasted Vegetable
Yummers! This was my first time roasting vegetables and I am so glad that this recipe was here for the choosing. I used sweet potato, Japanese eggplant, red onions, garlic, brussel sprouts, and asparagus. I cooked it for the 45 minutes, but at 400 degrees. This was delicious. I cannot wait to try it again with other veggies. Thank you.

Slippery Shrimp
This was pretty darn close to Yang Chow's. I like a lot of sauce so next time I'll double it, but other than that this was fantastic. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
