The dough itself is pretty good, but the recipe as written needs lots of changes. For one, 12 triangular scones make for scones that are WAAYYY too big, these need to be in either two discs cut into 12 scones EACH, or just rolled into 24 round scones. Also, the flavor is quite bland and I recommend adding either lemon zest with lemon extract, or orange zest with orange extract. Maybe finely diced strawberries or blueberries on top of that. PLUS they took way longer to cook than written, and I have a brand new calibrated oven so I know that's not the problem. After they had cooked at least 20 mins I ended up cutting them in half and putting them back in, and they still cooked another maybe 10 to 15 mins. Honestly I think they could have used few more mins too. OH also, sprinkle a little coarse sugar on top for a nice crust. --Different people like different things and perhaps in certain parts of the country these are the way scones are, here they are smaller, more flavorful and just a bit different.
