Scotcharoos
This is a great treat! My mother took the recipe right off the Rice Krispy's box when I was young, and I am quite old now. The amounts and directions were a little different though. Yodabear said that hers got hard. I think if you would bring the sugar and corn syrup just to a boil until the sugar is just dissolved, then take it off the heat and add your peanut butter it won't turn out hard. The amounts in the recipe I had were... 1 cup karo, 1 cup sugar, one cup peanut butter. Then one cup semi sweet and one cup butterscotch chips. This is a family tradition at our house and my children and grandchildren don't think it is a holiday unless there is a HUGE pan of these. I double or triple the recipe on occasions.

Polenta
Great basic recipe. Grew up with parents who lived through the depression. Everything was used, even empty cans. Remove both ends and press your polenta into it while still soft. Chill and then push it out and you have wonderful, round polenta that looks great. Use some Press and Seal wrap on one end. We enjoy polenta fried with butter and maple syrup in the morning.

Real Homemade Tamales
Great recipe! I did make a few changes as well. I added 3 T cumin to the meat, used the broth from the meat in the masa and used a large can (27 oz) of Hatch chilies instead of the dried chili pods. I lived for thirty years close to the Mexican border and these were every bit as good. Thanks for the great recipe. We doubled it and it made 42 generous tamales.
