About this Cook
I'm a farm girl. Grew up on a dairy farm, now married to a hog and sheep farmer. Guess what we raise? Cows, Hogs and Sheep. We sell our meat products at food co-ops and farmers markets. Always loved to cook and bake, and now so do our 3 children. Fresh, local products are the way to go, great flavor, fresh and healthy.
My favorite things to cook
I can cook about anything, especially love to grill. I was a waitress while in college and learned how to make some great dishes, even Steak Diane ! I think my steaks are the best and some of the soups I make are so good. I have been experimenting with different lamb recipes lately. We sell lamb and my cooking knowledge of this meat is limited, but I've found some great recipes on this site.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking with my daughter, although sometimes it's hard to slow down and take the time. But , I realized recently that she's pretty good at helping so now I have her help chop up ingredients and we make dinner together. I think the best part is tasting what's cooking !
My cooking triumphs
Won first place at a burger cook off, made Pizza Burgers. They are really good.
My cooking tragedies
I can make great apple pie BUT have a hard time making the crust. I seems to end up witha crust that tears easy, I think it's too dry. It still tastes good, but hard to work with.

Armenian Shish Kabob
My first attempt at Lamb Shish was Awesome ! We raise lamb and sell meats, so I am trying different recipes to recommend to our customers. This is wonderful and easy. I omitted the wine since I didn't have any. Cooked this up for a tasting gathering and all enjoyed. Make sure you have good lamb, preferably from the farmer who raised it. Check out your local farm markets. Makes a difference. And we appreciate your support.

Pork Chops for the Slow Cooker
Making this for the 3rd time today. My son said I should make this every week. You know it's good if your kids like it. Only change was to add honey and omit salt. For those that said the chops were dry....2 ideas.....Did you slow cook them ? Low and slow = fall apart tender. Also, want a good quality pork chop, you get what you pay for. We raise hogs on our farm. Have found it best to buy meats from the farmer / farm markets or reputable butcher. It's amazing the difference in flavor and quality.

Garlic and Herb Lamb
This was quick and easy and very good. I'm not a dill fan, but tried it anyways. Real glad I did, loved it ! I grilled chops and made this as a rub. Did add a dash of cayenne to this rub. We raise and sell lamb and I'm trying out new recipes, this is a keeper.
