This was soooo good! I only had dried cilantro and I only used 2 tsp of cayenne pepper & it was still very spicy. I did find the Jicama at Walmart superstore and this with the lime juice is what really sets this off! I ALWAYS deepfry my corn tortillas in olive oil, I can't eat them just warmed up! So it was cruncy & mind blowing! I ran out of Tilapia and used catfish, it was still great!

My search is over!!! These are just like the ones my grandmother would make!! I tried to make these last year with yams and they were very stringy and un-enjoyable. This year I found sweet potatoes. My grandmother always made them so they were hard around the edges (I don't know if she fried them 1st) but it was sooo good. I used 1 cup of brown sugar and 1 cup of white. I doubled the spices and cut the sweet potatoes in inch size pieces because it's more heart warming and pleasant if you take the time to cut them. No one wants a big bulky potato in their mouth. This dish tasted even better 5 days later!

When u add the seasonings garlic/onion/thyme/ fresh or dried & add the mixed veggies This is definately a 5-star recipe. Even without the veggies it's a 5 star dish.... we know this is not a chicken pot pie recipe :) but everyone likes to add their 2 cents, but it's still good as is
