Dianne's Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
The sauce was AMAZING, but the chicken was wayyy over-seasoned. My husband didn't appreciate the powerful lemony sweetness nor the various herbs used in the chicken seasoning blend. Next time, I'm going to omit the seasoning blend.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

"Ehh," is pretty much what we all said about this recipe. It seems like something is missing, but as a beginner cook, I don't know what it is yet.

Banana Muffins with a Crunch

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
I just needed to use some bananas, so I tried this recipe. My husband is the banana eater in the family, and he thought these were great. ONLY THING: It is better to be cautious than overambitious with this batter. When filling the cups, aim for somewhere between half full and three-quarters full. These puppies rise! Also, old fashioned oats are fine as a replacement for granola, and it's best to follow the advice of another reviewer when mixing the ingredients. She knows what she's talking about!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
My husband thought this was pretty good. I took other reviewer's advice and added an additional tablespoon of flour. I also didn't have any dried basil, so I just chopped up some fresh basil instead. It seemed to work just fine.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
MIND BLOWING. My husband proclaimed this as the best dish I have made to date, and he insisted on seconds! Definitely worth a try. I didn't have white wine, so I used the same amount of chicken broth instead. I also sprinkled fresh chopped parsley over the chicken and cream right before serving.

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Good, but not great. Be careful not to brush too much butter/margarine onto the potatoes prior to baking; it might turn out greasy!

Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
Good recipe, but like other reviewers, I found it dry. Definitely add more sauce! I served it with minced fresh parsley sprinkled over the top, and it added a nice touch.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could! This recipe has turned into a family favorite. I found that Marie Callendar's unbaked pie crusts (normally found at Meijer and Walmart) went perfectly with the rest of the recipe. I didn't change a thing and couldn't find a fault!

Simple Baked Apples

Great tasting, and it made my house smell like Christmas. I wasn't a fan of the walnuts, but they added a necessary crunch.

Sweet and Spicy Stir Fry with Chicken and Broccoli

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2011
This was pretty good, but not really our thing. Even still, this dish packs some heat and is a worthwhile experiment. I definitely suggest that you gradually add the chile paste and sample taste as you go so you're not overwhelmed at the end!
