I'm not one of those people who LOVES to cook - I LOVE TO EAT GOOD FOOD!! I started cooking when I was 12 or 13, when my mom started traveling for work...I helped my dad out with dinner preparations and in turn learned a very valuable skill!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that packs a lot of flavor with little effort!
After being laid off last year, I have vested far more time in my kitchen and found joy in baking cookies, cakes and breads. Now, we are watching our calorie content and am finding I am enjoying compiling healthy menus daily!
My favorite family cooking traditions
As for family cooking traditions, they are your standard mid-Atlantic, semi-fattening, almost Southern style of cooking...but now with two heart attacks down, we are all adjusting that bad habit.
My cooking triumphs
I FINALLY made a nice, moist and tender piece of pork...pork tenderloin medallions, sauted in olive oil, with fresh garlic...it was delicious...I always foul this one up.
My cooking tragedies
My standard cooking tragedy is cooking pork...it is always too dry. I try to follow the meat thermometer, but have since abandoned that tool when it comes to pork.
