My favorite things to cook
Anything with a tid bit of heat. Living in south Texas its all about tex-mex and I love these types of dishes. I like simple, no fuss dishes. With kids its tough sometimes to appeal to their palette, but sometimes you just got throw your hands up and Njoy the dish yourself, LOL.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I'll always remember huge family get togethers at my grandpa's house with cousins galore and aunt's and uncle's. My grandpa made the ultimate chicken noodle soup and it was a must with every meal. Being of Czech heritage there were always plenty of Kolaches, struedels, and fried pinwheels with frosting (fried pastry). We never lacked taste with his meals.
My cooking triumphs
Ribeyes on the grill....mmmm good with some German potatoes and crispy cole slaw!
My cooking tragedies
Accidently substituted salt for sugar in muffins...give me a break, I was 12 years old! Also, made a huge delicious pan of lasagna in a glass pan, after cooking I wasn't thinking and set it on a hot burner on top of the stove and BAM! The pan burst all over the kitchen, there was glass everywhere!

Pasta e Olio
This recipe is soooo simple, but is soooo good! I left out the red pepper flakes because of my kids taste buds, but was still so tasty. I served it as a side dish to Cube Steak Parmesan. My kids gobbled it up. It would be really good too with some broccoli and grilled chicken served on top for a one dish meal!

Cube Steak Parmesan
This was super freaky gooood! It tastes like a dish served in a restaurant. The only tweaking I did was at the end I added shredded parmesan after spooning sauce on top instead of grated parmesan. I served it with Pasta e Olio, salad and garlic toast. Perfect meal!
