Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
I'll have to try this recipe again and hopefully be able to give it five stars next time. I'm sure it's something I did on my end, but this bread turned out dense with a lumpy top. the dough itself seemed somewhat dry initially to the point I added a bit more water. I'm not sure if I accidentally added too much flour or if I didn't kneed long enough. I'm not an experienced bread maker, but this recipe seemed so easy and fool proof. My daughter, who loves plane white bread, said it had no flavor. I'm not sure if a bit more sugar is necessary. I didn't mind the denseness, and actually enjoyed the crunchy crust, but it wasn't at all light and fluffy on the inside for me the first time. I'll try again.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2013
I just made these tonight and they turned out perfectly. I took the advice of one reviewer and made sure my butter was extremely soft. I used an extra teaspoon of vanilla extract to up the flavor. These are super easy to make and highly addictive. I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Cherry Cheesecake Frozen Yogurt

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2013
FANTASTIC! This frozen yogurt will definitely be one that I will make again and again. I used a large jar of maraschino cherries and a little bit of the juice for extra color and cherry flavor. The use of cream cheese really enhances the creamy the creamy texture. I had a hard time putting the spoon down.

General Tao Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2013
I've made this serveral times and it's fantastic. Regardless if you make the chicken breaded or not, it's still fantastic. I serve it over a white rice, quinoa blend and it's to die for.

Savory Roasted Root Vegetables

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2013
This was fantastic! Like other reviewers I adding a splash of balsamic vinegar. I also added a tablespoon of pepper flakes. I didn't have beet greens, so I topped it with a little bit of chapped fresh parsley. Served over a combination of white rice and quinoa this was a satisfying meal.

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2013
Yum! I've never made zucchini bread before, and I have to admit this was a very quick, easy, and satisfying recipe. I was out of orange zest so I didn't use it at all, and didn't use nuts. (Maybe next time) Like many reviewers suggested, I coated my chocolate chips with flower so they wouldn't sink to the bottom. This bread formed a wonderful crust on the outside leaving the inside soft and decadent. A great way to use up your Zucchini, or get kids who otherwise won't eat it to gobble it down. I'll definitely use this again and modify it according to what I have on hand. I'd like to try peanut butter instead of oil. :)

'Out of Salad Dressing' Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2013
Just made this tonight and enjoyed it very much. I did make a few adjustments to suit my own tastes. I used the juice of just one lemon instead of one and a half. I used two teaspoons of minced garlic and one teaspoon of garlic powder. I added a few pinches of fresh ground pepper and a few dashes of cayenne pepper for a hint of heat. I didn't have the time to let it sit, but it was still very tasty. I stored the leftover and will use with another salad tomorrow.

Nutty Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2011
Fantastic! I made this last night and this morning it's GONE! I made a few changes. I used Granny Smith and Gala Apples. I like the combination of sweet and tart. Also, the Granny smith don't get as soft as the Gala after 40 minutes in the oven, so it's a nice variety of texture in the apples. I didn't use lemon juice, but lightly coated the apples with sugar and flower before putting the topping on. I used double the oatmeal, and two full cups of coarsely chopped pecans instead of walnuts. The results were absolutely heavenly.
