Chicken Cheese Chowder

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2013
I really liked this recipe! I added corn to the vegetable list also just because I love it in soup. I didn't have any velvetta, but I did have a box of organic macaroni and cheese (not the powder cheese)so I just added the package of cheese it came with and then added regular shredded cheese. It worked out great. Sometimes you just have to substitute things because you don't have everything on hand. I didn't have enough milk either, so another sub was half almond milk and half 1% milk. Family thought it was great and will be making this again!

Chicken Parmigiana

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
It was pretty easy to prepare, but I didn't think it was that special. I even added herbs to the bread crumb mixture to give it more flavor, but I didn't think it helped it much. My husband liked the dish, so it may just be different taste buds on this one. :)

Natalie's Amazing Irish Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2012
This was an excellent recipe. I didn't use a bag of hash browns because I don't like foods that have preservatives and other added ingredients, so I used about 7 smaller potatoes and shredded them on a cheese grate. I also didn't have enough milk on hand so I used about a cup of half and half and a cup of milk. Even with those small changes, it was very tasty. Will be making this again!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

I really liked these cookies! I used butter instead of shortening/margarine, and I also rolled the cookies in sugar before I put them into the oven. I will definitely make these again. :)

Very good Muffins!! I substituted honey for the sugar and also added some cinnamon to the mixture. I also put a little mixture of sugar and cinnamon and sprinkled it on top of the muffins before putting them in the oven. I will definitely make these again!

Onion Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2012
I thought it was pretty flavorful, but I did add the juice of one small lemon and I think that zested it up a bit. Overall, it had a nice flavor and i would make it again!

These were awesome!! I mixed apple cider and apple juice and let the pork chops simmer after I browned them. I would double the sauce though...flavor was great!

Apricot Chops

This was really good! I didn't have any Catalina Dressing on hand so I used French Dressing and it tasted great!! I cut the sauce mixture in half (only had 3 pork chops) and it made more than enough.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2012
I had to deviate from the recipe just a little because I didn't have enough white vinegar on hand but I added apple cider vinegar to the mixture and it worked out great. I had tons of veggies left over from my juice fast that I did the previous week, so I added broccoli and radishes to the mixture also. The dressing is more than enough and made Alot! Very good....definitely going to make this for my next church's pot luck! :)

These potatoes are absolutely WONDERFUL! The spinach makes this dish go over the top. My husband's words after our meal was "This is was the best meal ever!" :) Thanks for the recipe!! Loved it and will make this again!! Next time I will cut the butter in half and substitute for olive oil to make it a bit healthier. YUM YUM

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2012
After reading the reviews, I decided to cut back on the tomatoe sauce and diced tomatoes because I didn't want it to taste too Italian. I only used about 3/4 of the can on the sauce and the diced tomatoes. I didn't have any bouillon so I just used the beef broth and added some red wine. I like the flavor of green bell pepper but don't like to eat it, so I cut into large chunks and then took out the pieces after the stew was ready. I kept everything else the same in the recipe and it turned out very nice. I am a pretty picky person when it comes to stews and soups so I was pleasantly surprised with this stew! Will definitely make again.

Slow Cooker Chops

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2011
If you make this, one can of soup is just not enough. I only had one can of vream of mushroom soup and a can of cream of chicken in my pantry, so i used half of the cream of chicken with the mushroom soup. It worked okay but it still wasn't enough. The pork and potatoes came out very tender but it had soaked up all the gravy. I had to really spruce up the flavor with alot of seasoning too. This is a great base recipe and you can add different veggies and seasoning to it to cater to your family's tastes.

Sloppy Joes II

It was very good...I think I will cut down on the brown sugar or ketchup a bit. It was just a little too sweet for me but other than that, it was really good. Will make again!

Weeknight Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
I was really weary about the sauce at first but I was wrong...it simmered into a very delicious sauce! I did season the chops with salt and pepper, browned them, and poured the sauce over them after browning. I let it simmer in the sauce for about 12 minutes. I doubled the sauce (which you really don't have to) but used only 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of mustard. I will make this again!
