This very similiar to the recipe my mother and grandmother made. They used the meat drippings for the base, no oili or butter needed. Mom always added Kitchen bouquet for the seasoning and with it's brown color, turned the white gravy into a nice very light brown. As we used up the gravy, she would make a new batch the next night and add it to the older batch, so we always had gravy ofr dinner every night.
