Energy Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
With such an all star cast of ingredients, I expected these to taste much better. My family would not eat them at all. Sorry. I think that maybe they would be a bit better with one less ingredient? So one or two can shine instead of all of them mashed together?

No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
Really really good! I reduced the fat/oil (really only needs 1tbsp for roasting and a tsp or tbsp of butter for frying the onions. I think there is enough liquid in the veggies and lemon juice to compensate). Also added chicken and broccoli instead of green beans. I just fried the chicken with the onions. Keeper, for sure. Loved it! I really loved the lemon flavours. i would also NOT recommend skipping the vinegar as it gives the dish dimension. The prep takes a long time, though. I prepped it over the weekend and put it seperate baggies so when I came home from work I could throw it in the oven/pot/pan and then it was only 20 minutes. I absolutely will make this again!

Molasses Cookies VI

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2012
Very good. Very moist, flavourful, and not too sweet. The entire family loved them. My first batch was gone before the second came out of the oven. you do need to make sure that you do not over bake them. Under baking is better than over baking.

Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2012
Yup, needs salt. Also, I put a squirt of dark chocolate Hershey's syrup. Tasted wonderful. Very light and airy. Very good. I made cupcakes. Surprisingly, they didn't rise very much, which worked out very well for my decorations/frosting. They were flat on the top. I got 30 cupcakes out of this recipe.

Scott's Savory BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
Good sauce, but half the vinegar. I had to boil it down. Then, the real spice of those red peppers came out and it was tangy, sweet and spicy. I love it now.

Irish Flag Frosting

I thought it was gret. You must not not not use generic powered sugar. You have to spring for the pure sugar cane, as it doesn't contain corn starch or something. It really makes a difference.

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2012
This dish was horrible reheated. I made it the night before, and it smelled sooooooo good, but then reheated it for dinner the next day. I'm not sure what it tastes like right off the stove, but don't reheat this recipe!

I didn't like this much. My husband and I both thought the flavors didn't work together.

Uglies

Very tasty, but I wish I could find a way to make them less time consuming. Flattening out those biscuits takes a lot of time. If you sandwich them in seran wrap, it helps with them sticking to your rolling pin. One with a side salad is an excellent lunch!

Mom's Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
Bye, bye ihop. This is a great pancake recipe!!!! We made it on an electric griddle (which is truly the secret to good pancakes....and good fried eggs for that matter). It was a bit salty, I will half that next time. I also added a tiny bit of water to make them thinner...personal preferance, but not necessary. I didn't think they would cook in the middle because they were so thick, but this concern was unfounded. They came out perfect!!!! Fluffy, yummy, the best pancake recipe I have tried.

Mexican Bean and Rice Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
We put this in burritos with some refried beans (ya, a lot of beans) and sour cream. Seriously, this was amazing. It tasted just like take out. I skipped the cilantro due to personal taste, used a bit of oregano instead. Thank you for the recipe!! Note: this makes a lot of food.

Really, really good. Added to the permanent recipe book. Added the peppers near the end so they weren't mushy. This recipe's a keeper!
