So much you can do with this recipe...I added garlic, Italian spice & cheese tortellini instead of elbow pasta...Very tasty!

My Crab Cakes

This was an awesome base recipe. I used yellow onion and all bread crumbs (out of crackers), I also threw in a couple of finely chopped shrimp, celery and 1-2 tsp of curry powder. Thanks

Chicken Angelo

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
The first time I made this (exactly to the recipe) I too found it a bit bland. Now when I make it I marinade the chicken breasts the night before in zip lock bags with chicken broth, garlic, and whatever spices I happen to feel like.

Cauliflower Cheese Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I have made this twice, first time i found the cauliflower a little undercooked and felt it could use a little something to perk it up. It was a good base recipe. Second time I used my steamer to help cook the cauliflower and carrots first. Then i added peas and extra spices. I also had leftover cooked ham that I cubed and added. A little extra cheese, about 2 cups (colby, old and monterey jack) finished this one dish meal off perfectly. Thanks Linda!

Sean's Falafel and Cucumber Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
I have made these several times. When I make them now I add 1-2 tsp of curry powder to it. Role them into balls a little bit bigger than ping pong balls and bake. They're great the next day served in a pita with veggies and left over cucumber sauce.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
Excellent recipe! We enjoy spicy food so while cooking rice I added 1/4cup of hot sauce and 2 tbsp of chili powder to the water. Night before marinated chicken in a chipotle sauce then baked the next morning, and threw it all together. Served with sour cream. Huge hit!! Thanks!!!

Syrian Bread

Awesome recipe! We like to jazz it up a bit, sometimes before baking it we'll brush on melted garlic butter and sprinkle with parm cheese. Great for dipping in pasta dishes.

Glazed Meatloaf I

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2008
I've been using this recipe for years, sometimes exactly and sometimes I change it up a bit. One son likes it sweet one doesn't like it as sweet. I always double or triple this recipe (to keep everyone happy), it freezes well. To make it not so sweet I cut back on brown sugar and add 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper or cajun spices and have also added a layer in the middle of cheese.

I didn't have any dinner buns so this recipe was perfect. The only thing I changed was by adding cinnamon.

Restaurant-Style Potato Skins

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
Great recipe! My son does not like sour cream, so for a little extra flavour I added a light spread of bbq sauce under the cheese and bacon before baking. Will make more of those next time. Those seemed to go the quickest, however they all did disappear!

Very very good, I have made this twice in less than 24 hours. The 2nd time I made it I added a handful of butterscotch/chocolate chips to the top, it was great both ways. I did use 4 cups of rhubarb and 4 cups of strawberrries.
