About this Cook
I am a happily married mother of preschoolers. My life is much busier than I thought it would be as a stay-at-home mom; that's why I love this website because it makes finding a good recipe super quick and easy. Right now my little family encompasses a wide range of appetites and tastes, so when I find a nutritious meal that all of us like, I tend to make it often. I grew up in a large family and thought I hated cooking, but having my own kitchen changed my perspective. Now if I have ample time, I love to feed my family and anyone else that wanders by!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake (I have a terrible sweet-tooth). Cheesecakes and cookies are probably my favorites but I love to whip up a batch of healthy muffins that I can feel good about giving to my family. Oddly, meatloaf ranks right up there at the top of my list.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When my whole family is together for a weekend, we hold our "Saturday Morning Breakfast Club" where my mom and brother make a huge batch of sausage gravy (the best in the world) and we all sit around the table drinking coffee long after the plates have been licked clean.
My cooking triumphs
A chocolate cheesecake (recipe from this website) that topped my much-more-experienced-at-cooking-sister's contribution to the family pot-luck. Some rivalries never die.
My cooking tragedies
A "Banofee" pie that only my brother-in-law (bless his heart) would taste.

Chocolate Covered Caramels
I am a candy making novice, and these turned out great. Very yummy. My new holiday tradition.

Priceless Pecan Pie
This is a good pie, but I like the traditional pecan pie better. The extended family liked it & I had no left-overs.

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole
I used frozen peas and skipped the celery. Very yummy, but the preparation was a bit time consuming. I made it ahead of time and stuck it in the 'fridge for a couple of hours. It turned out great.
