My favorite things to cook
I would have to say desserts, especially cheesecake. The more decadent, the better!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think every now and then I want to remember my childhood, so I will bake simple things, like fresh biscuits, cinnamon rolls and good old brownies. But my usual cooking style is very inventive and I am forever trying new recipes.
My cooking triumphs
I think my biggest triumph was when I hosted a meal at my home for a group of online cooking buddies, some of whom came from extensive cooking backgrounds. They travelled to my house, 6 of them, plus my family. Needless to say, I was wired about this whole ordeal, but it was a smashing success (I worried for nothing), and recipes were doled out!! I would do it again for sure!!
My cooking tragedies
The worst thing I ever did, and my 3 sisters NEVER let me live it down to this day, was the time I was making Monkey Bread (aka: pull apart cinnamon buns). I used baking soda instead of powder in the biscuit recipe (I was 13 at the time), and they were horried!!! It didn't help that I had invited all my friends over to sample!!

Curried Carrot Soup
This was truly divine! The only thing I did was add garlic, and carmelized both it and the onions first. I did not thin it at all with water. The texture was more appealing to me when thick. Sooooo good! Now on my list of faves!

World's Best Lasagna
I LOVE this recipe. It has the perfect combo of spices and cheeses! I look forward to the leftovers!! The entire family agrees!

Chicken Satay
This was delectable! I actually had it marinating for 2 days (ended up not cooking the next day as planned) and I was worried it might not help it out. BUT...this recipe was perfect..just the right amount of zip, and it took just a few minutes on the grill to cook. A keeper!!
