About this Cook
I'm 25, married to my wonderful husband Vince. We have 2 delightful daughters- Wendy (almost 4) and Annabelle (2 months).
My favorite things to cook
I love making meatballs, pulled pork, cakes, pumpkin roll, tomato sauce and empanadas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
A fabulous homemade meat pie every New Years day, and for my husband's birthday I usually make him lasagna or spaghetti with homemade meatballs and sauce.
My cooking triumphs
My meatballs! I've never followed a recipe for them, and definitely don't need to now!
My cooking tragedies
In high school home ec class, me and my partner were making snickerdoodles. We forgot to add in an ingredient- possibly flour? (yeah... I know) and when the cookies were "baking" they ended up oozing off the tray and all over the inside of the oven. Oy.

Grandma's Corn Chowder
This was a fantastic base for a chicken corn chowder my husband and I wanted to make. We mostly followed the instructions, but instead of using bacon I used ghee to saute the vegetables. I also added baby carrots, a rotisserie chicken and some diced bell pepper. I used 1 can of cream corn and 1 can of regular corn. Instead of cooking everything in water I used chicken broth. It was hit all around, and we had enough soup to last us for days! Thank you again.

Curry Stand Chicken Tikka Masala Sauce
This recipe is absolutely fantastic. While it may seem like a lot of work, to the uninitiated, it is completely worth every second. I didn't change a thing, it's perfect the way it is. This has become a staple in my house. It freezes well, and even storing in the fridge as leftovers- reheats superbly.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies
My husband was super hungry for homemade pb cookies, and I thought I'd give this recipe a shot. Holy cow! He bugs me weekly to make them now! We're both HUGE pb fans, so we nixed the peanuts, and added Reese's Pieces. These are amazing fresh out of the oven, when the cookies are still soft and chewy, and the candy is all gooey and melted. Best pb cookies I've ever had!!!
