What a great dish!! This was the first time I've ever made a pot roast, and I'm a newly-wed who's just starting to get my apron wet :0). I had been wanting to make one in my new slow cooker forever, and came across this recipe. I also took notes from a previous post, and I did 2 cans of cream of mushroom, 1 pack of onion soup mix, and instead of water I did 1 cup of beef broth, and 1/4 of red wine - the red wine is a must...I swear, it just kicked up that roasted yummy flavor. I also splashed in a little soy sauce because I'd seen recommendations for worch. sauce and I hate that stuff. Then for the meat, I seasoned with a little garlic pepper, red wine, and soy sauce - then rolled it in some flour and seared it on all sides. I think it definitely made a huge difference, because this was better than any pot roast I've ever tasted. I also tossed in some fresh baby carrots and a few small red potatoes, chopped in half. My husband was IN LOVE with this. So glad to have a new dish for the new year!!
