Tasty Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2015
I wanted so much to love this recipe. It smelled so good while it was cooking, and of course, it was really easy. It was just so sweet, though! Way too sweet for me. My hubby and friend didn't like it either. I gave it three stars, though, because I love the cooking method and the general idea. I would suggest adding less brown sugar, though.

I didn't really like these -- the texture was VERY odd.

Banana Bread from Mott's®

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2014
It was pretty good. I might add more vanilla and allspice next time for a little more flavor. I also think it would be good with nuts. Overall, though, it's a good fall recipe. Thanks, Mott's.

Johnsonville Classic Meatballs and Spaghetti

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2014
This was fast and easy, and the Johnsonville frozen meatballs were phenomenal! The only reason I gave it four stars is because I didn't think there was enough sauce in this recipe. Maybe I just like my spaghetti saucier than most, but I would double the sauce for the amount of meatballs and pasta that are in this recipe. Or, if making for four, I would probably cut the pasta and meatballs in half and use the same amount of sauce. Otherwise, it's great!

Mushion Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
Not bad...I enjoyed it. I cooked instant rice right in the sauce at the end. It didn't make for a pretty presentation, but it was pretty good for a weeknight.

Mom's Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
For the ease of preparation and overall taste, I definitely give this chili five stars. It's easily customizable; for example, I added Johnsonville Italian sausage (I used mild because that's what I had, but I think hot would have been fabulous as well), and it really kicked the flavor up a notch. Thanks for a wonderful fall recipe!

Party Size Sausage Calzone

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2014
I made this tonight and thought it was very good! I did tweak it a bit -- I crumbled and browned the sausage and added chopped green pepper and chopped mushrooms. I also made the dough myself from one of those packets of pizza dough mix. The seasoning and hot Italian sausage were spot-on. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef

Wow! This is a really good recipe. You can also make it in the slow cooker -- it helps it get nice and tender. Thanks!

Elaine's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2014
I used Nutella instead of peanut butter but otherwise followed the directions. They turned out great! I'll definitely try this recipe as written as well. Thanks, Janet!

Lengenberg's Boiled Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2014
I've eaten boiled potatoes my whole life but have always just added a little bit of butter, a little bit of pepper and plenty of salt. I liked the addition of parsley, but I agree with Baking Nana -- potatoes definitely need more than a pinch of salt, or you're going to be very disappointed.

Creamy Wild Rice Chicken Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
I thought this was very good! The only thing that I did differently was to use crushed Ritz crackers rather than saltines. It was great, and I'm sure I'll make it again...next time, I think I will try adding broccoli!

Thin Spaghetti with Garlic, Red Pepper and Olive Oil

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
We enjoyed this. I would definitely suggest scaling down the recipe -- I cut it in half for the two of us, and there was still way too much pasta. I added a little extra crushed red pepper and sauteed a handful of precooked shrimp in the oil, then tossed it all together. I would definitely add the extra crushed red pepper -- I think it would be bland without it. Thanks!

This recipe was very good! I followed the recipe exactly other than adding 1/4 tsp minced garlic to the sauce, and it turned out great. Thanks, Barilla!

Bangers and Mash

I thought this was quite good! I'd never had "bangers and mash," but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Even my picky BF, who turned his nose up when he heard what we were having, really enjoyed the meal. Super easy..thanks.

Meatballs and Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
I made these as stated first and would give them three stars. The sour cream was too overpowering for me. Then, I made up a packet of brown gravy mix (1 cup) and added it, and it made them much better. I served over pasta as "Swedish" meatballs.

Cocktail Meatballs

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
This is a great recipe! The homemade meatballs are a winner, but you can always use the store bought kind if you want to make things easier. When they simmer in the sauce (I like putting mine in my slow cooker on high, then turning them down to "warm" for parties), they get the most delicious flavor. Try them -- you won't be disappointed!!

Pink Lady Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
I made a double batch for a baby shower, and everyone loved it! I wanted to take a picture, but it disappeared way too quickly! I thought it was very good and very easy. The pink was a darker shade than I thought it would be, but it was still fine. Will make again -- thanks.

Pork Carnitas with Cilantro Tomatillo Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
We really enjoyed this! I couldn't find chipotle chili powder, so I used cayenne in place of it. I also didn't use cilantro in the salsa because we don't like it. Otherwise, I followed the instructions to the letter. I thought they were very good! The pork was very tender, and I loved the tomatillos in the salsa. I would add a bit of seasoning to taste to the salsa, but otherwise, it's a winner. Thanks, Mazola! :)
